What is the appeal of walking simulators such as Heavy Rain, Life is Strange, Everybody's Gone to Rapture and such from a GAME point of view?
I agree that they have fun and interesting stories, but as a game? They barely feel like actual games.

Your retarted
you need to learn the difference between adventure games and walking sims before you can start a conversation about whatever it is you want to complain about
>>333041096
That's funny because walking is literally the worst part of Heavy Rain
> Pressing R2 to walk

i liked heavy rain.
but christ was that a stupid decision who let them make that decision
Movies where you can make some choices and watch how it has a small effect on the game world.
>>333041096
Heavy Rain doesn't have a fun or interesting story, though.

when shenmue came out some people called it walking simulatorat least in spainand now it's a cult game

Adventure games aren't games either. You can pretend they are because of their age but there's a reason they got replaced by walking sims

People like to make choices and watch as thise choices change things. Only problem is that in most of these games your choices barely matter but the kind of people who actually consider the writing in these games good generally won't care so long as it feels like their choices matter.

out of the ones you listed, the only one that's really worthy of "WALKING SIMULATOR" designation was Everyone's Gone to Rapture
you literally just walk
at least in the others the player does other stuff
in EGR, you just walk around like a dumb asshole
