Raising the FOV to maximum (15) makes QCQ easier and also improves your view in general since your character isn't taking up 1/3 of the screen anymore, and turning on AAB prevents certain QTEs from killing you, raises time limits for certain scnes, and makes vehicles handle better. The new PS4/XBO versions have FOV raised and Auto Action Button enabled by default.

Use water to escape them, if you can. Remember that they don't like explosives. The swarm is basically immortal. You've got to disperse them to find the queen thing controlling it. It's an interesting enemy, but it could have done with a more more polish because it's hard to tell whether you're attacking it right.
