Basically try to make it more inviting. The best example is do something like Fight Night Champion. Follow a wrestler as he goes through to become one of the greats. Have some fights with some made up characters maybe have a cameo from known wrestlers and throughout it, you'll learn the mechanics of the game.

I got into it myself recently (Summerslam last year). Here's the deal:
Pretty much everything is planned in advance, in terms of outcomes, promos, people making "surprise entrances", big spots during a match, etc. etc. That being said, making everything look convincing still requires a fairly large amount of athletic prowess, and even though the moves are executed in such a way to not be as hard hitting as they can be, they still hurt and can fuck you up.
If you can suspend your disbelief and just enjoy the athleticism on display with a story to help carry it along, you'll probably enjoy yourself.

It's kayfabe has legitimately become more in depth than most fictional lucha.
To explain briefly, everything is completely over the top yet taken and delivered completely seriously, with actual major character arcs, deaths, etc.
Drago, one of the wrestlers, is literally a dragon in kayfabe and has turned into one in a backstage segment, and is friends with Aero Star, who has recently been revealed to be a time traveler who's come here because of a prophesy involving he Aztec Gods.

Start with NJPW, watch the latest Wrestle Kingdom to see some of the best Japan/indies have to offer. Pick out a match you really like and look up other shows featuring those performers, they might be in NJPW or another brand, and you'll naturally expand your viewing from there.
Wrasslin is great for this, you can be involved as much or as little as you want, so just figure out a good starting spot and watch a new show occasionally and you'll see some cool shit.

You should definitely check out NJPW in addition to LU. They're pretty much on the opposite sides of the spectrum, as NJPW goes all in on a serious sports feeling (Though there's still comedy guys and matches) and they usually have the best pure wrestling matches around.

Well then I guess I'd say the Destroyer. If you're smark enough, it's pretty obvious to see how much coordination between both wrestlers the move takes. Whereas the Vertabreaker, while flashy, still looks kinda practical. Similar thing with Zayn's DDT thing. It's still a solid DDT, him jumping through the turnbuckle is more just to give his opponent less time to react... In kayfabe anyway.
The Launch Uppercut is meh to me, but only because the "European Uppercut" always looked super fake to me.
