>buy $3 mouse years ago
>still works perfectly

What's the point of buying a $40 "gaming" mouse?
>>
>>332958787

Gimmicks. That being said I stop falling for the gaming mouse meme and bought a $7 mouse instead.
>>
>mfw can't play anything without my g600 anymore

send help, I'm spoiled
>>
Somerhing about response time and bindable buttons
Of course if you don't care that your mouse has 5ms lag versus 2ms then you probably shouldn't care
>>
There is no point because you need to buy a $100 mouse to stay competitive. I doubt you're even a DMG let alone a Global Elite.
>>
does anyone know a mouse that has a similar extrabutton in M1?

No point to get a gaming mouse except for the extra buttons
>>

Someone sounds jealous that they're not good at video games because of their sub par gear.
>>
Gimmicks costs and dies easily.
Most chinese mouses you can get on dx will outlast most big brands out here

Nice try, marketer.
Do I have to buy a 4k monitor and 2 titans too by tomorrow or I will die?

This one, granted it's on the opposite side.

I bought this fucker for 30$ and it's nice as fuck. I don't play any mmo's but being able to basically play any game off your mouse alone is pretty neat, especially with the planet coaster alpha I've been playing, binding shit to make building easier is real good.
>>
I have a mouse that looks just like that, probably the same one because it too was cheap, and it's certainly not very comfortable. It's small and easy to carry with my laptop though.

More buttons and different shape mostly. Some better features like using special keybinding to make a button do turbo clicking or something.

I am currently using that shitty logitech MMO mouse that for some reason when playing WoW or any other mmo the god damned middle click stops working. The G600. I stopped playing mmos and now i use the 12 buttons on the side for so many things in other games that i'd feel gimped not using it. For ARPGs i can usually bind every attack and menu command onto the mouse and play with one hand. Its so fucking convenient.

Just don't get anything thats LE GAMER GEAR. They're usually over priced, just get the button scheme you want and make sure you read up on whether or not the mouse has massive flaws. They will release hardware with massive flaws that they never fix, its disgusting really. Be careful.

Half a decade ago, I fell for the gaming mouse meme when mine died. I bought one of the most expensive wireless mice on the market.

Due to being wireless, and the position of the USB receiver, there were several blind spots. When turned at an angle, there was zero response. In a game where mouse based movement is mandatory, blood pressure can skyrocket in seconds.

Been using a Steelseries Rival for two year, the scrollwheel is fucked, the rubber on the sides wore off within a month or two. The sensor is on its way out and it feels cheap.

Just gone back to using my 4 year old Razer Imperator and literally everything about it feels better. Feels solid and well built, the scrollwheel is good, the sensor is still good and it just feels better all round.

Steelseries never again.
>>
I got a MX518 about 10 years ago, and still using it today. At one point I had to open that shit up and clean it all the way since the scroll wheel didn't roll no more. After cleaning it was good as new. If my mouse breaks, I probably buy the same one. I don't care how it looks, got no time to look at it when I'm gaming anyway lel
>>

I did some research and settled with the Rival 100 because it didn't have the same issues as the 300(cord getting loose, cheap wheel, teflon feet wearing off, sensor going in and out, double clicking) while being priced nicely at 30 bucks.

I can't use a mouse with side buttons, the way I hold it (a combo of the "grip" and "rest" methods) I always accidentally hit the side buttons. I buy cheap as fuck regular mice and I'm just fucking fine.

Have you ever:

>played a game where you could place furniture, crops, or whatever else, that weren't locked to a grid, and had to spend several minutes trying to place one thing perfectly?

It happens less the better your mouse is.

It makes a considerable difference. Gaming keyboards are dumb, they don't really do anything but using a default mouse that came with the computer and it was extremely imprecise, floaty and had weird accel. Got a zowie FK and it's a whole different deal.
Swapped between zowie, logitech and steelseries, and all of the mice i've used have felt different. Some worse, some better.
Zowie is a nice middleground, Logitech is better for snap aiming, quick flicks etc. while Steelseries was very good for tracking, following the target. Though i've fiddled around with the DPI and sensitivity so that obviously matters.
Just my 0.02$

>>332970495
I use one. Lots of CS:GO pros are picking it up. The scroll wheel isn't perfect, but I use it a lot for jumping and sometimes it gets stuck (not stuck so much as in limbo) between clicks and will click easier than I'm expected or when I move my mouse. This only occurs if you do not let off the wheel entirely when you finish scrolling and end up getting it there.

The shape is similar to the WMO, but ergonomic.

I used a g500, since it was made pretty heavy it was easier to memorize the amount i had to move it, which worked well with high sens.
I used a steelseries sensei back then when i had low sens, and it worked well even if it took a while to get used to the accel.
It's a generalization of my own experience, not saying it was decisive.

How do I gitgud at FPS? Playing vermintide atm.

I can't seem to hit shit, head shots are totally out of the question, even if enemies walk straight at me. Haven't played in 10 years bc life but recently decided to reduce work to 3 days/week to get back into my old hobbies so I got plenty of time.

>>
>>332971434
>It's a generalization of my own experience
Well you really interpreted your experience terribly and did not voice that even remotely within reason in your post. Considering you only used 1 mouse from each brand do you consider that an accurate generalization?

You second post was definitely a lot better than the first, but the G500 is laser trash. (I used it too, great mouse until I got gud. Sensei uses a flawed sensor (you acknowledged this). Are these sub-par mice enough experience to make a broad generalization of all Logitech and SteelSeries mice?

Do you think that your sensitivity had not to do with your aim, that it was only the mouse?

Please do not give mouse advice to people. Instead, educate yourself and then link other people to a guide and educate them.
>>
>>332971721

1. knowledge is power, so familiarize yourself with the mechanics of the game you're playing: recoil patterns, damage, bullet drop, effective range etc.

2. develop muscle memory and train your aim. something like this could help. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C9crP7rsj8E

3. play more. git gud.

Lower your sensitivity and practice. Run drills with and try to remove anything that creates inconsistency.
>Get a good mouse
>Practice versus bots.
>Prioritize accuracy over speed.
>Play a lot.

One drill I like to do is to aim at two fixed points (stationary bots or fixed points on the map) and aim slowly at them. This just gets me warmed up and helps with muscle memory. I pick up speed during the drill, until I'm not trying to be slow anymore.

I used a g400 and a Rival as well, actually. The g400 was pretty good, the rival meh. Kind of nonplussed about it.
I was really good with the g500 though. I used it when i played TF2 at a high level, and never had any issues with it. I feel comfortable saying that it, for me, was a good mouse.
What was your problem with the g500 if you don't mind me asking? The steelseries mice were definitely the weaker of the mice for me, I had heard of zowie before but from the looks of them they looked like they didn't work well for my relatively large hands and palm grip, which is why i had used the steelseries mice before making the switch finally.
Didn't really mean to give advice, especially since the two mice i mentioned are now not even produced anymore to my knowledge.

Thanks alot. Yeah reason for me sucking so much might be using really high DPI on my desktop for years. Will be hard to slow down now.

Just a last question. How do mouse settings and game settings interact? I guess I'll have to test every game I play for my prefered sensitivity settings even if I have my mouse all set up from other games, right?
>>
>>332972953
>What was your problem with the g500 if you don't mind me asking?
Laser mice were not as good as optical until the recent G series Logitech released. g500 had angle snapping issues (if I remember correctly). I liked it a lot, until I got the g400 as a replacement when the mouse cable fucked up, which was my fault sadly.

I did not like the Rival, build quality and the shape. Far too large for my hand and overall not comfortable, but I had no issues besides that in the small time I used it.

I once bought a Logitech mouse for 15€. It had laser colours on the sides (changing from purple, to blue, pink, red, green, etc).

That mouse was so good it lasted me well over 4k combined hours of CS 1.6+Source and the only reason I got a new one was it was filthy as fuck from all the grease and skin flakes it accumulated over the years.

TL/DR: some mouses are simply GOAT . the one in your pic looks uncomfortable, tho.

Protip: Disable all acceleration. Especially "Enhance Pointer Precision" in your windows mouse settings.

The mouse is a physical object so the sensitivity translates to a physical measurement.

Keep your mouse on the same DPI and put windows to 6/11 (middle setting).

I use my mousepad as a guide for new games. I put my mouse in the same spot and move it from one side of my mouse pad to the other. It moves about 330 degrees in 12.6 inches (less distance actually, I'm not counting from the sensor, but from the edge of the mouse.

CS:GO is at 2.4

This will help you decide what sensititivy to use:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RwT5fXEloxg

Different games will have different settings for sensitivity, just focus on trying to get the same amount of movement in game relative to how far you move your mouse. Do this after you find a sensitivity that suits you.

Lastly, there's true sensitivity:

True sensitivity is advanced, do not worry about it if you do not understand it.

>I finally figured out i could tape my mouse cord to the table to stop it from getting wear and tear.
Same. It also helps you not have to pull the weight of the whole cord around.

actualy, I had to get a new mouse because I fucked up the mouse button by pulling it out to clean the gap right under the mouse button.

It was filthy as fuck and gross as fuck. But I didn't know what I was doing and broke the fucking mouse button.

Anyway, it still lasted me well over 4k combined hours of CS 1.6 and CSS play. I miss that mouse.

Same thing happened to my G400. Once i took it apart it never felt the same. The G400s didn't feel the same, so I've given that away.
G400/MX518 were GOAT

This anon's post is GOAT.

You don't need 50€ mouses. You just need a mouse which doesn't derp the fuck out around the screen and then manually adjust the sensitivity in-game (preferably adjusting values inside the console).

Bottom line is, If you're getting a gamer mouse just to press the DPI button and call it a day you're a dumb motherfucker. People who get functional 15€ mouses and tweak the console settings will fuck your shit up.

damn, that mouse is comfy as fuck.

the whole weights thing makes it fucking GOAT for it's time.

(a friend lent it to me once)

>got a logitech mouse for free
>get pissed easily, brutally abuse my mouse when i get angry

Sometimes you don't need any extra buttons and shit in a mouse.
