Playing Alex feels weird. I think I'll get used to him but when I first played him I instinctively tried to do 3S combos because I was so used to them and they /almost/ worked. It never stops, I recently kicked someone's ass who was I want to say rank 67. And it was already dead obvious after ten seconds of playing him he was gonna ragequit on me, starts off by holding up back, then throws a projectile, jump towards roundhouse, jump back, that kinda shit. Mashed out his super twice and ate shit for it.
In a weird way I'm happy I didn't get his points, I'd probably have gotten like 300 and those weren't gonna be particularly legit either.
Just stick through it, eventually these guys lose their motivation. I mean if you quit as hard as this guy must have done, develop the most shitty online-only habits, and then get your ass kicked in 100% of your matches cause everyone you get matched with is leagues ahead of you, you've got to run out of steam eventually...

Capcom is trying too hard to appeal to a wider audience these days, but they forget that the only people who buy and consistently play fighting games are part of the niche audience in the first place. Now they're going to continually make excuses as to why SFV is performing so weakly when it comes to sales and playerbase, while they try to extoll the EVO signups.

This is like the least problematic problem to have. Chances are you have more problems you don't even realize yet, but this one? Sit your ass down in training mode, do the moves / combos that give you trouble a thousand times, and then just keep playing and fucking up until eventually it sticks. This problem solves itself "automatically". Just play, and then it's there. And keep note of the times you fuck up and be pissed about it. Like you do and are already. And then one day it just works.
Do other Karins tend to use their super at the end of a combo whenever she has the chance, or save the meter?

Can't comment about Karin in particular but for Rashid, it feels like there's never a good time to do super except when it would decide the game (or a round that's too clutch for your liking otherwise). All of his EX stuff is just too valuable, with 3 bars I'm giving up the threat of the best reversal in the game, endlessly long pressure strings with the EX tornado, and followups from zany hits across the screen with the EX eagle spike. And surprise eagle spikes which are completely safe and catch people off guard when it's clutchy. Plus, the rare situations where you could combo into super all either scale the damage to shit OR allow you to get nice damage / corner carry / setups meterless that makes super an even more undesireable choice apart from the meter cost.
It's probably not much different from Supers in SFIV. For most characters, in most matchups, most of the time, they might just as well not exist in competitive play.
