I've been playing it a lot today and it's good. There are some bugs but nothing gamebreaking I've seen. The voice acting is good though some returning VA's do sound a bit older which is to be expected, they nailed their old parts nicely.
There's a screenshot floating around about some transsexual nothing NPC you run into, but it's literally nothing. I didn't know she existed until people started freaking out about it so it's not really forced on you.
Overall I'm having fun and it feels like ToB for Baldur's Gate 1 in a sense.

It's kind of a controversial opinion here, but I think the infinity engine is just fucking awful, and that DnD is shit for vidya (but I do love some actual PnP e5). BG2 managed to be stellar in spite of this because of the amazing world and not being reliant on combat, where as ToB was just dungeon crawls which I'd rather do in a real DnD game.
Anyways those are just some hot opinions, I'll reserve judgement until actually playing the game

Both criticisms are perfectly valid and even common. BG was great in spite of IE and DnD. I did very much enjoy the setting however, Texan accented knights aside. Another reason I'm really hoping cRPGs are refined in gameplay with this new wave. Obsidian certainly seems keen on trying with Eternity, but didn't quite hit the mark.
