Is there any way to make grenades skilled in competitive games?

If the grenade hasn't hit the ground or any other surface first, it'll explode immediately on contact. What this means is that good players are rewarded for their skill in projectile aiming with the maximum damage possible.

The timer. Set the timer. The amount of time before it explodes. You could set it to explode in 5 seconds, or 10s, or 20s, or whatever.

And then after you pull the pin in will explode in that amount of time. You pull out a grenade. You twist the knob to 5s. You pull the pin. It explodes in 5 seconds.

Instead of holding R2 for 4sec, now I have to tap it once, wait 4sec, then tap it again.

let's say you're in a room. you see a grenade thrown in your room. you now have 4 seconds to exit the room or throw it back. that's a decent chunk of time, yeah?

now you're in the same room, and then you hear a thunk and you're dead.

the difference being that your time starts when the pin is pulled instead of when you throw the grenade, allowing you to give your opponent no time to react to the grenade.
