Played Earthbound for the first time. Really enjoyed it.
I noticed the N3DS VC is a little buggy, lines become extra thick when in motion (especially noticeable with pixel perfect on), but appreciated the comfort of playing it on a handheld.
Also finished the SNES version of DQV the other day. Planning on playing DQ I-IV, but not sure whether to play the original NES versions or the SNES remakes.
And Platinum Demo, obviously.

i'm really on the fence on XV. i haven't really enjoyed any final fantasy game for some reason, i struggle to get into it. This one seems to be more interesting overall. Only played 7, 10 and 12 before as well. and lighting returns for some fucking reason...don't know why, it's on my shelf and it'll sit there until kingdom come.
earthbound is the same. i played it for a bit, got to the first city or something and just quit. no interest in going further. atleast not yet.
the snes remakes should overall be better though. can't think of a reason NOT to, unless you're REALLY into the original experience.
Personally my next goal is to get back into fighting games, starting with mortal kombat x. I like the series, but i've always been mediocre at fighting games, which annoys me greatly since i seem to pick up most other genres pretty easily.

I too am on the fence about XV. Especially after playing Platinum Demo.
It was kind of charming, nice music and a cute atmosphere. But the controls were clunky.
The camera was unresponsive and Noctis felt heavy. Combat was down right bizarre.
I didn't care that FF had gone ARPG from turn based, but hold down O to fight is just so underwhelming. Especially so when combined with the aforementioned camera and movement issues.
I'd recommend picking up Earthbound again if you ever fancy a comfy Nintendo RPG.
Last MK game I really enjoyed was Dead Alliance, although it seems most anons don't care too much for that one.
