>SH Turnaround Double Laser
>>
>>332718974
Been messing around with SH turnaround waveshine laser in the lab.
Trying to perfect my ledgedashes and actually learn to moonwalk with spacies.
Maybe one day.
>>
Atleast you used a different image this time, mods might take 5 minutes longer to delete it this time
>>
>>332719181
Is there a melee general yet or do I still have to stick to reddit/normiebook to talk about melee.
Fuck is /sbg/ cancer.
>>
Did my first sticky walk & boost run as Falco today. Shit was cash. Proceeded to make several similarly ranked players quit friendlies after a few games. Can't wait to hit some scrub with that shit on the ladder. Once I stop spilling spaghetti everywhere when I play ranked, that is.

How's your tech skill coming along friends?

It's still shit, I feel like I'm not getting any better.

I can easily moonwalk with spacies but I couldn't save my own life I had to do it with Falcon or Ganondorf.

Right now I'm just solidifying my basic tech-skill and trying to mix up tripleshine into grab/aerials/wavedashes. I'd be glad to have actual people to train with, but my Uni is in the middle of nowhere and it's full of weedbros. At least 20XX's Sheik has been helping me a lot.
>>
>>332719405
Mods are perfectly fine with these thread, it's just this one fag that can't avoid to get assblasted about them for some reason.

Let's talk Melee then.

>Main/Secondaries
>Current tech practice
>Locals experiences/results
>Questions about the game
>eSports shit, why not?
>>
>>332719543
who do you main and how are you practicing? I hit a roadblock about a month ago and changed the way I practice mundane shit and it's made a huge difference in my in-game execution.
>>
>>332719443
Netplay isn't indicative of actual performance in tourney m8. Still I wish I could play it without my school dorms blocking it. Still a useful tool for honing your fundamentals
>>332719543
Keep going at it. Melee requires insane persistence from most people. Tech skill isn't everything either. Analyzing matches(preferably your own) can help you a shit ton aswell.
>>
>>332719819
I main Marth and I'm trying to pick up Falco.
I try to practice about an hour a day, mostly just fighting ICs in 20XX to try to get my L-cancels perfect in every situation.
>>
>>332719621
Pratice basic stuff before doing crazy shit like multishines.
9/10 times you can go for much simpler options than multi-shining someone's shield.
Than again if you are Falco doubleshine mixups on shield are pretty useful.
Shield pressure is all spacing and mental anyway so remeber to keep it simple. Grab is fucking broken in smash.
>>
>>332720314
Stick with one character. Don't fall for the multi main meme at low level. You can play Falco in friendlies but in MM's/Tourney sets/Seriouslies stick with Marth unless you don't find him fun.

Movement and knowing how to react outta of downtilt's IASA frames is mad important.

Is there any decent Mississippi Melee players I should know about?

I know man, nerves can fucking destroy you. Which is why I'm only in Silver. I know its only gonna be worse when I start going to shit.

>>332720314
PewPewU had a great video about solo tech practice but I think its gone now. Shit takes time no matter what and one day it'll click. If you put in the time it'll come. Just gotta keep grinding.

Do you have a Melee video that gets you inspired to keep training/make you want to play/etc.?

A personal favorite of mine is Dark's Fox techskill video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xwDHs6UXgR8

>Darude - Sandstorm used unironically

And Crazy Little Jungle Bird

>I've been trying to work on my comfort with close laser spacing by running/spacing around the 20XX 4.05 Fox with invincibility on. Good idea or am I gonna develop bad habits?

Could go either way. Mixups are essential to the game, so you shouldn't just stick to it too much. Also, close-range laser control works better with Falco since his lasers can interrupt the opponent's actions, PPMD is amazing at this with doing mixups like close laser to wavedash back and then wavedash forward and variations of pressure without having to actually open yourself with an attack.

At close range with Fox you can get more out of n-airs or empty hops that will lead to a grab or something.

>Main Fox and Secondary Falcon in friendlies
>Practicing ledge dashes and general platform movement like crazy. Trying to get shield drops down aswell. My movement and basic tech skill is fine I just need to work on my neutral a bit more.
>Usually get around 3rd/4th at my locals. Won a free uni tourney with people around my skill level so that made me happy. Still can't make it outta pools in monthlies in nebs/CFL. I hope to go to a major one day. Probably going to Apex this summer.
>Yeah what specifically should I look for when analyzing matches? Any good note taking tips

Who /Quit Smash Autism To Play Real Fighting Games/ here?
>>
>>332721348
I was watching Zhu/Hax at shots fired 2 and Zhu's laser control was fucking crazy. The fact that he could lock Hax of all people down with those shield stop lasers kinda showed me how lacking my laser game was. He was definitely making Hax play defensively and it lead into a ton of mixups/punishes since he had to respect the gun.
>>
>>332721581
Dark is proof tech skill isn't everything lol.
Dude sometimes puts Hax/Westballz to shame but goddam is his decision making really meh most of the time.

fun game that has an rabid autistic fanbase but that's pretty a great deal of good game though
>>
>>332721893
Hax and Westballz have trouble with players who slow down the game since there neutral is nowhere near as good as their insane punish games.
>>
>>332722089
Insane how the top 20 literally run circles around lesser known players.
>>
>>332721353
>what specifically should I look for when analyzing matches?

I guess you should focus on decision making, option coverage, errors and how are they punished by the other player. I'd recommend watching PP's and Mang0 analysis in some tourney I can't remember the name of, they know how the game works so well they even could tell what players would do way in advance.

>>332722051
That's Chilean Melee for you. Shit can be "serious", but it's practically in our nature to just fuck around and have fun all the time when playing. You can easily tell by listening to any chilean commentary.
>>
>>332722089
God damn thats fucking retarded, those lasers don't even cause hitstun. Balls of steel.
>>332722220
This is true, but I get out lasered by falcos who run away and shoot lasers the entire game. Can't be dealing with that shit, its fucking annoying. Good thing once you're on top of them they have no punish game or neutral to deal with. If my laser game is getting beat by theirs but I'm still low% 3 stocking, I've gotta improve it.
>>
>>332722449
And the top 5 are nearly untouchable by everyone else.

Only problem is little pot bonuses and sponsors being to afraid to work with PM which will end up killing it in the long run.

Seem like he was trying to read lucky DSHL forward instead of inplace near the edge. Lucky didn't fall for the bait and just straight zoned him out. The Marth was throwing out way to many hitboxes too. A good dash into crounch dtilt or spaced dash attack could have got the inplace lasers. Crazy thing is there are a million options lucky could have done to stop that aswell.

I love how Hax and bet you that slut does aswell but until he fixes his hands nigga aint gonna win a major. Especially with Hcuck in attendance.
