I didn't think this day would ever come, but it looks like an indie studio finally delivered a fun, gameplay oriented game with an interesting artstyle.
I gotta say, it's a nice change of pace from the usual sjw walking simulators.

Are these threads just shilling or is this game actually worth buying?
>i only played 1 indie game
It's outselling Dark Souls 3. Must be pretty good.
>>332707232
It's pretty gud
Get it refunded if you don't like it within the first 2 hours.
>>332707232
I think it's pretty good.
>>332707421
Nigga that's the same amount of time it takes to beat the damn game
OP you should stop taking advice from /v/ and actually try some indie games. The walking sims are literally the triple a titles of indie games, how casual can you get?
>>332707518
I've been playing since this morning (with meal breaks of course), and I've only completed 1.5 out of the four zones in the game. It's not AAA length by any means, but it seems t have a good amount of content for an indie.
Honestly, you won't be able to discuss the game here.
Too many many children and literal children here on /v/.
There's a thread on /vg/.
>>332706984
>gameplay oriented game
>30fps locked
>input delay
>>332707518
Lowest time to beat so far is 7 hours.
Get fucked.
>>332710372
Nice try, but this is some very obvious bait.
You need to try harder, and get some new material.
>>332710509
what, did the developer realize he was a retard and enabled 60 fps?
Got the GOG version.
Soundtrack's pretty good. By the guy who did Fez. Nice to see that the one good part of that game didn't go to waste with Phil Fish.
Gameplay's pretty good; as much as people hate to admit it it's a bit like Dark Souls; long hallways of enemies that you need to learn the tells of before you attack.
Cutscenes have been drop-dead gorgeous.
Animation's great and so are the colors, but the sprite themselves are pretty low quality.
30 FPS kind of sucks, and I'm not sure why he put it that way. Pretty weird.
Also I'm not seeing why people are saying sluggish controls; it feels fine on my end.
>>332707232
Good game, worth pirating but that's about it. Why give money to people who are funding the latest Sarkeesian scamstarter?
>sword nigga boss
>don't have infinidash
MY ANUS IS DRY AND UNPREPARED
Pros:
I think the art looks cool
Stylish
Secrets are fun to find
Pretty good music
Intriguing world/story to discover
Cons:
Repetitive gameplay
Too easy to die. "Welcome to Dark Souls" approach to death
Checkpoints are inconsistent
The game's idea of difficulty is to throw more enemies at the player to fight at once
Not very innovative. Doesn't add anything new to the formula
>>332706984
>gameplay oriented game
I was considering picking it up until I read this. Off to the usual torrent places.
Soundtrack is cringy hipster pseudodrone for the most part and gets nauseous pretty fast, graphics aren't bad but level design is utter shit, too much backtracking and empty samey hallways and everything consists of "blocks", ai is stupid and falls off ledges and stuff all the time, and for some reason sometimes I get fps drop I mean of course I don't have some high end pc but come the fuck on, even with some special effects sprinkled on top it's still a 2d game, make it run like one.
Gameplay consists of 2 buttons so far, dashing and attacking (3 hit combo all there is), oh just unlocked dashattack and it's meh, gun is kinda pointless since it's difficult to aim fast, bullets are limited and damage is the same as melee but without aoe. I expected something great to play high as balls but despite aesthetic it doesn't work out, this feels like a flash game in everything but trendy visuals. Maybe I'll stick with it and it becomes better but I'm not sure.
>30 fps
>>332712949
>waaa waa mommy why this game feel bad on my widdle boy eyes!!
I regret backing this game, lesson learned. Never back a kikescammer game. Beat this indie garbage in 7 hours and I can't be bothered to get all the secrets because I'm sure I'm not even gonna get a different ending either way. Also the credits make me want to drink bleach.
>Special Thanks
>Anita Sarkeesian
>Zoe Quinn
>>332706984
>that opening
that was genuinely amazing & reminded of of old black and white movies
>>332713220
>Special Thanks
>Anita Sarkeesian
>Zoe Quinn
dis real?
>>332713632
No joke, anon. Can post Zoe Quinn one too.
>>332713782
aren't these just backers? HLD was a pretty hyped game among indie type people when the kickstarter was running, it's not inconceivable they backed it
>>332713782
>>332713632
>Not being able to appreciate a piece of media because of it's creator's views
Anyone have pics of the 800 rewards?
>>332714151
forgot pic
>>332713961
No that's special thanks. Backer credits are separate. Also, note Phil Fish there as well as Burch's sister.
>>332714076
I am, I think the game's good. Won't give them a dime for it though, in fact will upload it to a seedbox that I'll rent fro 100 obamas just because.
>>332713961
They may have backed it but the backer special thanks and this special thanks are completely separate
>>332714076
I could give less than two shits what their political views are, the game was still shit and a dissapointment IMHO but seeing these two in the special thanks made me realize why the devs were so fucking dodgy and passive aggressive in the kickstarter comments and updates. >>332714476
I didn't notice those two, brb going to the local supermarket to buy some clorox.
>>332713040
:^)
>>332714476
ah it just seemed like there were a lot and organized alphabetically so I figured it was backers
>>332711859
>Repetetive gameplay
I think the core mechanics and upgrade system makes it so the gameplay doesn't outstay its welcome before the end of the game.
>Too easy to die. "Welcome to Dark Souls" approach to death
I haven't really felt this, but its easy to get overwhelmed if you aren't paying attetion for a moment.
>The game's idea of difficulty is to throw more enemies at the player to fight at once
While this is true, the game also likes to play with terrain and enemy varity to increase difficulty. I don't think its bad at all.
The rest of your points are spot on though, but not innovating isn't bad in itself, the game can still be enjoyable and it shouldn't take from the experience unless you counted on the game innovating in some way, which I don't think it ever said it would.
>>332714638
It figures once you see their avatars.
>>332713782
>ordered by first name
triggered
Is there any reason this fucking game ignores autopressing keyboard function? I can't fucking perfectly press space 800 times in a row.
>>332716038
Did you pirate it?
>>332711167
>Needing that for him
casuals
>>332716160
I have the GOG version. But there's nothing different about pirated versions.
>>332707232
Played an hour and I don't like it.
>>332716516
Wrong.
One difference proven so far:
In the chain dash mini game, the final reward is given at 800 consecutive dashes.
When you reach 799 in the pirated version, the game crashes.
Only happens with pirated version.
>>332711006
>long hallways of enemies that you need to learn the tells of before you attack.
that's every single action game you fucking retard.
>>332716637
Wrong. That just happened to some rando in the other thread. Stop spreading misinformation based on anecdotal evidence.
anyone ripped the OST yet?
