It's probably safe to say military contractors and manufacturers of military goods made a lot of money after 9/11 - profiting off the two wars.
The American public is fairly apathetic about ISIL now, but just you wait until there's a significant attack on American soil. I don't mean some minor thing like the shootings and street bombings. I mean a Brussels-sized airport bombing.
When (not if) that happens, the American public, regardless of its current state of tiredness of bloodshed, will just decide to go over to Syria and cut through ISIL - and those who are continuing to make billions off Afghanistan and Iraq will make billions more. The special forces have asked time and time again to let them at those fuckers and commanders leaving Iraq have said that without a doubt they will be back because they left the job unfinished.
