A couple of days ago I made a moving wall walljump level that was too hard and not any fun. I scraped the level and made a new one using a similar concept, but this time there's a floor. I think I still might have gone a bit overboard with the last section though. Also, I'm disappointed with the limits on both block and track tiles.

Kamek's Lab Part 1: Overgrowth

Part one of three, at the end of this level you will rescue the thwomp dad from Kamek's experiments. He will drop through the floor and help you later in part 2 to destroy Kamek's Duplication Machine. Part 3 will be an escape.

It is a very long level with two checkpoints. The lab is focused on challenging platforming, and the attic is a mix of platforming, combat and light puzzles. I have a lot of content already created for part 2 that was initially made before I decided to split it up, so it shouldn't be too long before I release part 2.

I think before that I want to recreate that scene from the movie The Rock where Sean Connery has to roll through the fire jets to escape Alcatraz. Could be good!

Played the first one, not bad. I think I remember playing the older version of your level (if not, one that started similarly) and had trouble gripping the front wall when the track ascended. This is definitely a lot less frustrating since Mario doesn't have that issue here, and the level is just primarily managing your wall jumps. I starred it.

That was actually an issue I notice when I first tried the moving wall concept. I was falling during play tests before I even put obstacles in, but I forgot that was problem once I got used to it which is probably why nobody really played past the first ascension point. When returning to the idea I figured it would be a lot more fun if the player didn't need to be constantly wall-jumping, since that would allow you to more properly prepare for whatever maneuver comes next.

no problem! It's meant to be really long and dense. I know it's tough, some people may find it too tough, but I always go for the gusto. I do intend to make more scaled down campaigns.
