The morality system worked well, and the random encounters were all pretty good, the only shitty ones being the one where someone tries to steal your horse, since it's obvious as fuck. It happens just often enough that it keeps the ride between towns interesting. Plus you could literally ride anywhere and find something to do or see. Ride out to a small pocket of land in Mexico? There's a chance you could see a man grieving over his dead wife, a carriage holdup, a sharpshooter looking for competition, or a pack of wolves. GTAV didn't have any of that. Shit, I'm playing through it right now and I've accidentally stumbled across 4-5 gang hideouts. Do you really not get any excitement from that?

Great story, great characters, interesting setting, fun shooting and riding.
GTA as a series was one that after a certain while of playing I got bored but Redemption was a game that managed to hold my interest by far the longest and is my personal favorite game of Rockstars.
