So what's the verdict on the steam controller?
I saw this promo and I just so happen to need a new gamepad, but I haven't heard much about this thing.
Is it worth it?
this is the controller in a nutshell

Touchpads are shit and no amount of Valvedroning will change that
I was considering buying it, but the deal is unavailable in Australia where it would actually be a nice discount. Fucking Valve, hope the ACCC fines them to a fine pulp.
i tried using it for dks2 and its shit
its good for other games though

I miss these things. Fond memories of RCT 2 and army men on a laptop
It's a piece of shit.
Strike not while the iron is hot, make it hot by striking!

It's not a replacement of your current favorite controller, just a substitute for M&K. It's basically made for Steam's Big Picture mode.

Why the absolute fuck would you play that game with a Steam controller
Valve are so desperate to sell that piece of turd
>>332503373
AFAIK good concept if you invest time in it.
Not pulling the trigger on it though. Now that they released CAD files I'm expecting something like a third part premium version coming in the future.
I really just want more backside buttons on it, because taking thumbs off to press a button is shitty. The face buttons could be removed entirely for all I care.

Why would anyone play with any controller other than Xbone Elite?

Because ds3 exists
>there are still aspects of the controller that have yet to even be integrated into working functionality
>there's still no way to easily configure controls outside of big picture mode
>the controllers have been out for almost 5 months
someone should probably tell these dipshits that their laissez-faire approach to developing software doesn't translate to happy consumers buying hardware.
