What makes good character design?
good character designers
Give everybody thigh high socks.
More designs like Uzume.

Subjective preferences.

Large exposed breasts
Can you recognize them if you just show an outline?
>>332489794
Something that is not the usual moe shit.
Sexy children.
>>332489794
Everyone but Very looks okay
>>332490035
You can for neptunia characters.
Does Megadimension Neptunia reuse levels from past games, like this infamous factory level that shows up all the time?
>>332490110
Vert's the best one though.
If anything, Blanc's super HDD form is the one that looks like ass.
>>332490035
you know they're just gonna look like Goku anyways
>>332490280
This nigga knows what's up
>>332490280
I'd say something about Vert being worst goddess but I grew to like her and that title belongs to Plutia.
>>332490280
I think Blanc is pretty cute in super HDD form.
Vert in HDD or super HDD looks okay. I dislike her regular form, though.
>>332490273
Yes. They reuse them for one dungeon. They reuse tile sets more.

Interesting and memorable designs that fit the respective settings.
>>332491668
I like her jacket. I want it.
>>332492358
Wearing that would be beyond gay.
>>332492454
So, the /v/ standard, then.
>>332492454
I think I could make it work.
I am 1.12 nep, after all.

>>332490280
> best girl is worst brand
this is suffering
Uni is my UNIverse.
TITS and ASS
Kneesocks and thighigh's aren't bad either.
I tend to like designs that take a particular concept and roll with it. Grounded, "everyday clothing" design is cool too.
Perpell from Trillion: God of Destruction is a pretty recent example. She's a powerful demon with a crest symbolizing Gluttony, one of the seven sins. As such, they decided to go for a Halloween type of thing. IIRC, the crest is on her tongue, she's a kid who loves candy, her dress has a mouth right where the stomach is, and her main colors are orange and black.
Do you want a serious answer?
Design that is unique and instantly recognizable, that is attractive without appearing distasteful, overdesigned, and unrealistic within context. It should communicate something about the character too.
>>332495658
Same for console tans.
>>332490280
I think they all look fine, but the gloves and boots are awful.
>>332496070
>>332496070
Is this from PP?
>>332489794
Nep is the only Omega form I like here.
>>332490273
Factory level doesn't get reused. I think the others ones do. The valley map is there, and it's egregious. Not only is it reused, it's often reused twice in the same dungeon. It's shocking.
Game has almost as much level reuse as Mass Effect.
>>332496596
>The other section of the map is mirrored first section
How did they get away with it?
>>332496719
I don't know. Maybe they don't since people ask about it before buying the games and complain about it now.
It's really bad. I don't understand how their levels are built. They don't seem to be proper tilesets.
overdesigning is good designing
if i wanted bland shit i'd buy apple products
>>332494863
>When are we gonna get a Vert game?
Never because Japan doesn't like her as much as they love Blanc and Noire.
>>332497056
Not always. I like some overdesigned shit like War from Darksiders, but sometimes it goes too far, like in Tactics a2.
>>332489794
Concise design with a recognizable silhouette.
Knowledge of proper human anatomy and believability is a definite plus but /v/ always gets triggered when that gets brought up.
>Muh fantasy
>If I wanted grey, boring realism I'd go outside
>>332497057
Feels bad man.
>>332497056
Most of the time it's called over designed because it went too far and ended up looking retarded. You can make it look unique without making them look over designed.
>>332497915
It's mainly because that would imply that only humanoids could be well designed.
>>332496596
I wish the factory level had shown up and they talked about how it was familiar
It made it into the anime even
>>332498334
I didn't say that anatomy had to factor into the design, just that the designer should have knowledge of it.
The same basically goes for most things relevant to the design in question.
Knowing how things actually work is a tool.
Though I guess for an amorphous entity knowing anatomy may be a bit of a waste.
