I'm playing this right now too.
How in the flying fuck are you expected to beat this without using a guide for the combat? Getting randomly killed trying to figure out a new enemy's patterns is anti-fun.

I actually beat it yesterday.
If you're playing Caster, then later on you can completely disregard the rock-paper-scissors combat, since her magic stuns enemies on every attack. Regular enemies will never be able to hit you.

AI only really uses a few patterns on each level so if you're patient you can learn roughly what they're going to do.
But you're right, it's hardly the most intuitive system. I still want to play CCC though.

Most enemies have some fairly obvious patterns, and so as long as you don't screw up too badly (and heal when needed) you should be fine. Even though enemies have only so many set patterns, all the enemies also have tendencies - some enemies like using guard, some enemies use break more often, some enemies like using a set pattern in most of their attack routines, etc.

Caster spells only stun against set attacks. The fire one only stuns against attack, the ice one against block, and the electric against break (I think). Any skill automatically gets speed priority against any normal attack, although Caster is going to run out of MP if you try stun-locking enemies you run across.

I've not heard anything about Extella being localized, although I would welcome it. I'd like to see the Extra + CCC Vita game get a localization as well, although I'm sure licensing for NA Fate/Extra might cause problems. We'll see.
I have Fate/Extra and the psp port of Unlimited Codes. What other NA Fate games are there?
