I preferred the moba design. It worked on the early maps as it tightened up the gameplay. Losing/winning games in 5 minutes sucked the fun out of the first game for me. The problem was carrying over the league rune system and designing maps that were not balanced around team comp. Instead they went for gimmicks. Gun mountain was the beginning of the end and was around when I stopped playing.

One thing I hated about L4D, is it's shitty vote kick system. You need a majority of the votes to kick someone on your team. 3 out of 4. If it's a stalemate 2-2. Then nothing happens. Warcraft 3 custom maps. Uther Party, the Weakest Link, Werewolf Transylvania, all that shit. It is mindblowing how far and wide the imagination of the map makers went. They took a map maker tool and created whole new genres within the game. Truly fascinating thing that warcraft map editor.
Sadly all of it was killed by fucking dota. Worst part is that I wasn't around to truly enjoy those maps and community.

The reason it died was because NEXON, who owns a huge % of NCsoft's shares, wanted it to end because they only believe in big earners (and whats huge in their own asian market), and CoH/V was beyond its prime (would never get huge MMO numbers again) and wasnt a huge earner in asia.
So instead of getting new servers for GW2s launch months, they just killed it, the studio and repurposed the servers to be overflow shards.
GW2 literally killed it.

But a vast majority of it was just complete shit, mediocre graphics, bad optimization and really bad animations. Honestly, ive always seen it as the other side of the coin of fate of vanguard. Both had the exact same issues and both launched to great marketing campaigns and hype, but both where dogshit out the gate. Because there's 55 levels of pure bullshit before you even get to the good content. Sure, maybe Grand Flores wasn't as interesting as... colorful pixies, but it was still solid for a beginning area. What really got me is that they replaced the perfectly fine Sky Tower, Behemoth, and the amazing North Myre and Citadel dungeons. You don't even have anything to look forward to after level 63, since there's no longer any Blood Sands, Reshpon, or Abandoned Mineshaft to enjoy. Sea Train and North Myre was the best part of the game.

Also, most of the pre-metastatsis dungeons were such gimmicky bullshit or were simply too long. The only good dungeons were a handful like North Myre, Hamelin,Verderia.

I want Dominion back. Fuck Riot, fuck "mobas", and fuck the brainless retards who can barely manage to play the basic mode. It fixed every conceivable problem the game type ever had, and was actually even in a fucking arena instead of some goofy lane map, but it emphasized fundamentals and rewarded quick decisions and quick reactions, so the average player couldn't handle it. It had its own meta and its own builds, it did require people to learn something that was nearly a whole new game, but it was a BETTER game, and now it's gone forever. I will never be able to play it ever again.

FP was made to place a limit on how long you could play the game. There's a reason why everyone hated it back in the old days of Nexon DFO. It did nothing to stop gold farmers. Gold buying and selling was lucrative even when the level cap was 40.
And the post-Metastasis dungeons are all gimmicks. The only good one of the bunch is Chessboard of Despair. Sure, Mt. Thunderime devolved into some gimmicky bullshit, but the dungeons were (barring Frozen Heart) still good, provided a decent challenge, and expanded on a large part of the story (Skasa and the children of Bakal). I'd much rather that than Ice Wall of Resignation, which is the shittiest set of dungeons in the entire game, bar none. Not to mention the shitshow at Underfoot, or the undeground dungeons that were like a worse version of the already dreadfully dull Noire Ferra. They didn't even have the decency to make the pay off, City of Noire Ferra, be part of the dungeon set. Let alone the loss of GOAT dungeons like Blood Sands, Reshpon, Area 51, Hamelin, Brigand City, and Verderia.
The fact that they made the Lotus fight more boring and completely threw out the story behind it should clue you in on the quality content current Neople is shitting out. All the good ol' devs who put major work in making fun dungeons, making a good story, fixing the gameplay, and creating fun, new classes, are gone.
