It has jump-cancellable moves, charge attacks, Focus Attack (with Dash cancel too), attacks that link into a ton of movement options, the RPS Counter>Attack>Grab>Counter Critical hit system that includes exemptions to the triangle, extended combos that require different nature of attacks to maximize damage, support cancelling moves, it actually has low/high attacks, and many other things.
It doesn't have traditional inputs, but it's still a fighting game.

I know Smash is very momentum and movement based game, the more good and fast movement options you have, the better. The ability to DI yourself back to safety or just out of the range of a incoming attack determines if you'll go down like a chump or put up a fight. Power can help in Smash, but speed and good movement and ways to stop the movement options of others are king and also open up what attacks can combo into another to ensure a kill.

Don't get me wrong, I love me some Blazblue. But Remember, it was created in Guilty Gear's absence because it was going through licensing Hell for a while. It makes sense that it would be cast into Guilty Gear's shadow, now that it's back.

any news on the side tournaments?
UMvC3 and MKX are the only games I really consider bad there. Pokken and Sm4sh I'm indifferent for, mostly looking forward to SFV, Melee, and Xrd.
Really wish BB could've made it in, but CF not being released by the time EVO starts makes that pretty impossible. Here's hoping for the 2017 lineup to include it, no other game is ever going to have as hype a Top 8 or GFs as BB had.
Plenty of places for America to practice, i think we will see good variety at evo.
