And before you talk about rechargeable battery packs, those were some of the highest profit margin accessories for Ms on 360, and always sold consistently well (high defective rate a year into its lifespan). It's why they upped the price of it when the Xbox One launched.
And I don't know about the pro controller but I refuse to pay that price for such marginal improvements (on a platform that gets minimal use from me). Hell it's even taking me some convincing to invest in a fight stick again.
FYI there was a whole marketing campaign dedicated to pushing the controller as superior to Ps4 for months when the system launched (remember them bragging about cost of research and development for it?). And now again with the push for the pro.
TL;DR: I prefer PS4's controller. My experience with both has been largely in Destiny, and I much prefer PS4.

The thing here is that Microsoft has already extended a hand to come together so Sony is in a situation where they can get some incredibly bad PR if they deny crossplay. The pros heavily outweigh the cons and everyone is essentially waiting on Sony to give the OK. If they decide to shove MS away it'll look incredibly poor on their end.
