It seems NightCry is finally out on Steam
Kind of came out to no fanfare did it? I kind of forgot about it for a while.
For those of you who don't know know about NightCry its a spiritual successor to Clock Tower done by the guy who made Clock Tower and the director(?) of the Grudge movies and it also had the Silent Hill monster designer working on it.Now someone go play it and tell me if its actually worth me spending my sheckles on.
Downloading it as we speak. Huge CT fan so I had to get this ASAP.
Expecting it to become YouTube bait (like every other new horror game) within the week if it isn't already.

Also I thought I was desensitized to gore at this point but this death in the trailer really bothers me. The thought of the front of your face(and the eyes specifically) getting cut by a giant pair of scissors REALLY fucking unsettles me way more then it should.

Yeah but that happens with every horror game so its to be expected.I just hope that Cryoatic plays it.I have a weird relation with horror games. I LOVE to watch them being played, be it by irl friends or via LP but I just can't control them myself. I literally freeze up the second I get the controller in my hand and I cant do anything.

The atmosphere is perfect. It's a bit buggy so far. There's stamina, but the tension is kinda lax when the monster catches up to you.
The real tension comes when you're getting close to a hiding spot, and the knowledge that it might find you there anyways.

NightCry, made me cry...It's a game inspired heavily by Clock Tower, sadly it seems to take the inspirations in all of the wrong ways. And it feels like the game wasn't made around these things, as an example the game is a point and click. Like the classic Clock Tower, however instead of being a 2D game now you are in a 3D plane, with a camra that follows you like any 3D style ation game. Its hard to explain but it makes clicking on where you want to go feel really unresponsive, also this is mostly a first impressions review. But I have yet to find the game scary in any way, the scariest part is the main menu.
Iv never even heard of this, not even seen it mentioned on /v/ ever
