I didn't actually play the 360 much but that controller was comfortable as fuck. I've been thinking about getting one for my PC, but I've already got a DS4 that works well enough so I can't really justify the purchase.
DS4's nice too, but not quite as comfy as the 360 pad. It's miles better than the previous PS controller design though.

The Gamecube controller is great for the most part but it's not perfect and isn't suited to all genres.
Fix the D-Pad, add a matching shoulder button for Z on the other side, and make R and L a little crisper, and it's just about perfect.
I don't get why Nintendo didn't bother to do this and just rereleased the original for Sm4sh.

I think this could be improved upon a bit. Just add like 2 more face buttons and 2 more on the sides, then add two joysticks. Lastly, adding a touchpad in the middle would make it all come together beautifully. Heck, while we're at it, let's get rid of the outdated "Select" button and replace it with a "Facebook" button since no one uses the "Select" button anymore but EVERYONE uses Facebook!
