The sticks have huge deadzones and the faceplates you can take off to replace the batterys. The faceplates however dont fit really well so you have facebuttons getting stuck under the faceplate.

I think Android boxes will become more serious in the future, but it's a very slow battle. Similar issues to getting SteamOS going, except you also have to wait for affordable mobile hardware to advance (which is at least happening at a crazy fast rate). Ouya was way too far ahead of the game, had no means of getting developers on board, had outdated hardware out of the gate, and basically only managed to get funded by idiots who thought they were going to be playing Skyrim on cell phone hardware in 2013. Nvidia is probably the best suited to make it happen, since they can afford to sell premium hardware as an experiment, and can work with devs to get things running on their own hardware. An affordable box that's already capable of running something like Revengeance at 30+ frames? That's good enough for a lot of people, but will get even better in a few years.
That said, I feel like a big chunk of the market isn't really interested in playing games on them. They're just looking for a lazy man's HTPC. At least that's why I bought a shield.
