its actually suprisingly easy, the "hard mode" is only hard for the first few hours and then it actually makes the game easier because of bonus exp and gold. There are also a couple of abilites for most vocations that completely break the game, i.e. Dragon Maw - you dodge completely everything while doing shitload of damage, can chain them together untill you run out of stamina ( who am i kidding, with a stack of 30 large mushrooms you arent going to run out of stamina ) making you unstoppable machine of death. The whole game actually felt half assed and unfinished, so many good ideas but everything is executed poorly

"hard mode" was intended for use only after completing normal.
Since it is actually just highly leveled up enemies.
All the kills you get on hard boost your experience so everything gets less hard due to massive stat increase with each level.

his is not a bad game my any means, but outright saying that it's one of the best games of the market is also a false statement.
This game reeks of cut content and you can see it almost anywhere you go. Starting with cutting shit off enemies - you start the game, in tutorial you see a chimera, you climb it, you cut the fucking tail off, you cripple the goats head, and you HOPE FOR FUCKING MORE OF THAT. And after playing the game more you realize that only this, and cutting tails off saurians can count as crippling enemies, unless you count destroying cyclopses tusks as that, too. This is just plain disappointing, especially when playing as a warrior (which is the worst fucking class) you'd expect to cut more stuff off enemies with your huge ass sword you carry on your back like an animeme character.
Then it goes to locations, or cities. Gran Soren only feels good when there's a huge fucking hole in it, otherwise the city feels goddamn dead. Barely any npcs, just a few shops, and annoying stairs you have to run up and down once in a while. Literally one city and one fishing village, this really feels cut out.
Then it comes to enemies. For the base game, most of the time you'll just encounter bandits and wolves who hunt in packs, optionally skeletons and saurians in "MANY DIFFERENT FORMS" even though they still fall to the same category and can be crippled in their tails.
Classes aren't so bad but some are too OP compared to others, as I mentioned before Warrior plainly and openly sucks and only a masochist will play him to the end. I had the unpleasant experience of going as warrior for about 40lvls thinking it would one moment GET GOOD but it never did, switching to Strider/Assassin feels so much more mobile and damage is also better.
Which also connects with another aspect of the game - CLIMBING.
It really is unintuitive at times, especially on UR-Dragon. If you climbed that motherfucker you know that camera can randomly move in shitty directions or a wing suddenly cuts off your sight and you don't know where you're climbing or where you are. Sometimes the controls of it also don't really respond to what you want to do meaning you're climbing in a completely different direction than you wanted to climb, draining your stamina and optionally getting you hurt.
BBI is probably the best aspect of the game and that says something about the base game itself - it's just shit when it comes to pacing, but plot itself is nothing spectacular in any means either.
Also the forced relationship that goes literally nowhere besides having someone in your house that you can talk to but do absolutely NOTHING with feels like cut content, too.
Forgot to mention about combat when it comes to bosses - most of it just boils down to climbing onto a boss and slashing their weak spot (usually a heart), or shooting at it from afar. Not really many approaches to bosses in the end.

I really have to agree with that. Open fields in this game are probably the most boring and annoying things especially early in the game when you have a low amount of teleport crystals and you run only for a few seconds and regain stamina for 10.

SotC had puzzles and collectibles, making navigating the large world rewarding. It also wasn't an ARPG focused on combat.
And DD's world is far from pretty, it's just...there. It's just plains, trees, a castle, some forts, a bunch of rocks. The only points of interest are the dungeons. The whole open world aspect was made solely to appeal to the western market which was dominated by the fad at the time.

Most of those bosses you listed boil down to slashing/shooting at their weak spot to kill them. I've killed a fuckton of chimeras, ogres, jews, niggers, gorechimeras, goreocyclopses, whatever you call it, they all spawn in the same places and after a while when you need to upgrade your shit you'll be basically forced to grind on the bosses.

Or give the items (if you have them) to the npc who can duplicate anything, then sleep, then run back to him, which is annoying as FUCK since he only duplicates one item at once and creates only one duplicate so getting for example 5 copies will take a really annoying amount of time.

I really, really, really liked this game and it was sincerely in my top 10. Then I did a mission for that French chick or whoever she was (the one you escort with the Hydra head) where we had to go through some catacomb thing filled with Saurians. Everything was going well and then she fell into the water and it was mission over. Restarting the mission took me back about 20 minutes to before I was even near the catacombs. Killed the game for me and haven't touched it since.
A real shame, but the magic is gone.

This is my personal opinion of course, but I prefer yellow or yellow/red.

One of the totems is on a tree branch that is unreachable.
I stood under and everywhere around it with one strider, ranger and sorcerer pawn, but none of them hit it.
