Does some anon know of a good guide/site/book to begin with game maker and its language? Programming is completely alien to me and I do not know where to start. I heard that GM is the most approchable and I bought that Humble Bundle pack so it is my best bet.
Currently I am with a book called "GameMaker Language: An In-Depth Guide" but perhaps there is something better or more beginner friendly out there…

It's gonna be a western game, castlevania-like. Plot is a bit like hell on wheels but less realistic. Gonna have a faction system like fallout. It's really early though and I'm not the writer, it's exploration at this point still.

Well you want it human but only slightly. You can see a little bit of humanity in it but maybe one or two very prevalent features. Maybe the body shape. Maybe the skin and hair.

Anon, I opened the program and took a good look. And I tried using solely the defined events and actions of Game Maker. And even checked the code of some games that came with the pack. But when I try using the language… It is just like opening a book in a foreign language you do not understand a single word. One can poke around but there is a moment when it is better to learn something.

But not every browser comes with flash already installed. It's essentially the same thing as Unity, a proprietary plugin that lets you play games, only Unity is way more useful. HTML5 is too garbage and limited, it'll never catch on for games. Maybe VNs, but games aren't happening.

HTML5 games don't flash or any plugins, it's just javascript that runs in your browser and you don't need to install anything.
Unity's proprietary web plugin doesn't work anymore, it's all WebGL now. Same principle as HTML5, you don't need to install anything.
Phaser just has smaller build sizes.
I kind of want to try making games but I'm really intimidated.
