#2 is fun, play it if you enjoyed the first.
Then stop and continue on with another series.
OP here. This was hugely underwhelming? I swear I've seen people say this game was scary? I guess it could have been okay when it first came out but jesus talking about raging like milk. If #2 is an overall improvement i'll get it but if not please let me know to save my time and money. I played Infinite ages ago and thought it was rubbish.

I never thought it was scary, besides that's a pretty subjective topic. In terms of gameplay, 2 is extremely comparable to 1, so if it didn't suit your fancy then feel free to not play 2. The only cool addition is being able to have a plasmid out in 1 hand and a weapon in the other. It doesn't get "scarier" by any means, the difficulty is comparable IMO. The story is a little worse, but all in all I'd say 2 isn't too big of a departure.

Eh, it might take you an hour longer to beat. You'll probably get through it at a slightly quicker pace if you're coming straight from the first game.
The DLC is trash, it's a very very short game where you play a different alpha series big daddy. I wouldn't bother with it unless you really wanted to be a completionist or love the game.
The first game has no noteworthy DLC to speak of other than stupid shit.

2 improves a lot of shit from 1 combat-wise, but the story isn't quite as good as the first one, that said I actually enjoyed both games quit a lot, and avoided infinte cuz that's fucking garbage
some people don't like taking care of the little sisters, but I actually liked those parts, plus it has the best daughterfu
