/v/ was constantly talking about Demon's Souls here prior to the Dark Souls hype train. The threads for both games were really good up until PC release. It got really bad then, along with the mainstream draw in. That's why outside of console war NEVER EVER shitposting, Bloodborne actually has decent discussion.
inb4 sonygger or whatever else. I prefer playing the souls games on PC. Part of me wishes BB and DeS came to PC but another part is saying that's a horrible idea.

Exactly two tracks are spoken of on /v/ (Rules of Nature and It Has To Be This Way), and it's only ever a repetition of like three lines from each song. The boss fights were only remembered for their quotable dialogue (fucking invincible, now you're just being nasty, played college ball).
Few people on /v/ have ever discussed zandatsu or fucking anything concerning the mechanics of MGR:R.
What did MGR do that Ninja Gaiden and DMC 3 hadn't done 10x better?

I played it on PS4 and aside from the 20 minute hospital escape movie, it was the first game of the franchise since the original MG that didn't interrupt me every 5 minutes to give me some poorly really dramatic codec call or pointless tidbit of information.
I could actually play the game, formulate how I wanted to address a situation, instead of 10 minute pseudo stealth sections separated by 15 minutes of dialogue.
I could understand if MGS even had good writing, but it and MGR are essentially the byproduct of a 7th grader creating what he feels is a super ultra cool political thriller.
For a game about espionage, there's absolutely no reason for a person to choose MGS games over Splinter Cell.
