Argueably it's getting more exposure, and it's not like spoiling the story ruins the game because people mostly like it for the gameplay.
That said, if you do watch full playthroughs, there are little to no surprises or "oh wow" moments left which are also a big part of DS, which could determine wether or not you'd still want to buy the game.
And that's even ignoring the fact that people can see and judge gameplay changes and difficulty settings in depth before having to purchase the game.

I personally hate buying digital which is why I don't have DS3 on Xbone (plus I want it on PS4) but I could see this being a trend in the future.
