It's fucking criminal that the game that was nominated in like 20 other categories manages to beat out the game that has 5 soundtracks, is way more challenging, had actually talented composers work on the music production (compare this to Undertale, where some of its most popular tracks are reused music its creator made for fucking Homestuck), and where music is actually a central part of the game. The shit icing on the cake being that Necro wasn't even in the top 3 results (it was 5th).
But considering this is /v/, where about 1/2 of it has played Undertale, whereas only about 1/16 played NecroDancer. Go figure.

You know what really pissed me off from the /v/gas yesterday? I'm female and I've watched these awards since the beginning and I'm fully prepared for the porn games getting celebrated and the "lol feminism" sort of vibe, I'm cool with it since it's /v/'s irreverent style, it's fine.
So I was glad when I saw the "representation of men" award this year and I figured the winner would be a game similarly offensive to the male gender, Hatred was the perfect winner and what I expected to win.
But, nope. The voting went very seriously, Hatred was panned and a game with credible male characters who are actually idolised and respected was chosen instead.

The awards are very PC-centric. Witcher 3 won because it was on most platforms. That's it. MH4U, Xenoblade, Bloodborne and so on are all better games than Witcher 3 but Witcher 3 won because it's what most /v/irgins played.
Even the narrator was sceptical to Witcher 3 winning. It wasn't a bad game but it wasn't really GOTY material considering how hostile /v/ is toward games similar to TW3 but under different publishers.
