They aren't going outside of U.S, thats for sure, and I don't know if it's confirmed but apparently its nothing but modern settings now, which leaves us with shit radio stations.

a lot of the first couple simpler missions are just typical traffic duty and cop shit, kind of an introduction to side activities. Then there's you shaking people down and working with the mob or some shit, couple of big operations and shit with the department, some of them are against your criminal buds and you gotta sabotage the operation as much as you can while still keeping your job and not getting anyone killed (because you're not a 100% dick, it's a complex character n shit you know)
