Not really, you get to pick from a selection of the cars you own that match the class/type of race (A,B,C Class and then Car/Motorcycle)
Each handle different, but its whatever.
If you have the DLC you can get an insanely OP car and just destroy every car race.
Sleeping Dogs is an amazing game. The only problem it really has is there's nothing really worth doing once you beat the game and the story doesn't really have replay value.

I pass by hongkong quite often and the pork buns thing are unrealistic. It should have been fish balls or any assorted fried things on a stick. And stinky tofu. Maybe even mango juice stands. Or just about anything else but pork buns.

I liked the game a lot. I found myself really getting into the story, and even roleplaying. For example, I refused to injure any cops. Also, it was really fucky on the mind. I was growing attached to the Sun On Yee, but not being a traitor to them makes me a traitor to the police and my job. I've seen the Billy Queen documentary and concerns about him growing too attached to the gang. The game seemed to portray that feeling in your gut well. I think this benefited from not being a True Crime game (which it never was intended to be, Activision just wanted to change it to that brand before they sold the game) because it told a unique story instead of being a cop simulator.
