Maybe the problem isn't actually with the character, but the game itself. Smash 4 could have had DI/SDI have the same level of strength it has in Melee/Brawl, that would have at least given you outs to a lot of her combos and force her players to rely on more reactions/reads/mixups to make the most out of her. Moreover, if they didn't reduce the hitstun multiplier every other character could have more intricate combos and kill confirms themselves, at least coming close or evening up their punish game with Bayonetta's. Bayonetta wouldn't seem so overbearing of a character if the game mechanics allowed the other characters in the game keep up with her intensity. Of course, none of this really speaks for her Witch Time. That's probably the main thing of hers that could use a retooling, though I don't know how I'd change it.

What I don't understand is how he can talk about Bayo not being fun to play against one minute, then defend Sheik the next. Does he seriously think that Sheik was fun to play against or watch at all? She was clearly better than every other character in the game, but apparently that's okay to him because "she took skill!" A forward air that beats every other move in the game, has virtually no landing lag, and combos into itself numerous times as a result is not okay and he's fucking foolish if he thinks Sheik didn't deserve nerfs.
At least with Bayo, watching her do mindless 0 to death combos reminds you that you could be playing her game, which is a ton more fun to both play and watch than Smash 4.
I can agree with some of the points he's raised about Bayonetta, but until I see her taking majors I'm not really going to worry about it. This seems way too reactive to the recent patch.
