I don't get it
I'm playing as Blue and it just seems like I'm learning new attacks at random, I'm sure there's some sort of rule governing it but I'm not seeing it. Also I got a new party member of some sort at the end of a dungeon but it restricts what Blue can do?

Ok, you're playing as Red, not Blue, and your move set got restricted because to protect his secret identity, he won't transform in front of human party members.
He will transform in front of robots, monsters, and if your humans are KOed.

I honestly think SF is one of the weaker games in the series. Its rank scaling is way too aggressive compared to the last three games, enemies are often put where they're extremely annoying to avoid, you can't flee from encounters because fuck you, it has way more busted stuff than the last three games and less upper tier content to challenge players who use it, and the setting design is schizophrenic and makes no sense whatsoever because it took after the GB games.
