It's rather likely for the villain to be "Brother" this time aka the guy who wanted Radical-6 to break out in the first place, also known as the leader of that apocalyptic sect "Free the Soul".
Also there are quite a lot of characters from the previous games in this one: Sigma, Phi (wearing glasses), Junpei, Akane, Diana (the original Luna), Q (the child has very likely Kyle Klim's consciousness inside of him) and 3 new newcomers.

The whole trilogy is going to be ported onto Steam very likely, the japanese trailer already has an icon at the end which indicates a Steam release for the 3rd game (strangely it's missing on the US trailer). I just hope as many people as possible play this great series so we can get more titles like this one.

I've heard that game is going to have truly random event outcomes, like for instance Sigma is going to be strapped to a chair while Phi is sitting in an oven which will turn on in one minute.
Diana will have to decide if she's going to use a rigged gun to shoot at Sigma which will turn off the oven but still will have a 50% chance for Sigma to die or they'll simply let her burn to death. The playtesters actually confirmed that the outcome is entirely random in these kind of gambles, so better get ready to savescum.

The game is going to feature a bunch of episodes which are out of order, it's up to the player to figure out the correct flow of events.
Since the characters will lose their memories every 90 minutes, each episode will feature a fresh experience and new dynamics between the characters.
Still, it'd be an assmove to simply wipe their entire memories. What good was the AB-project if they can't even carry those valuable memories with them?
I'm kinda hyped but I'm gonna need a serious refresher on the first two games before playing it.

If you can time travel then the memory wipes don't mean shit for those characters since they can just jump to after/before the wipe happens. So for Akane, Sigma and Phi these mind wipes don't really mean anything.

Also, a major theme of the game is coincidence and how small coincidences can lead to big changes. By making these random elements a part of gameplay marries the idea with the story’s theme.

Is Brother's goal to turn the collective human consciousness into a giant hivemind? It would be in line with Radical-6, which makes people suicidal and trying to free their soul of their body, as well as the virus slowing down the brain, increasing the esper potential. Both removing the human consciousness from their bodies and turning people into espers sounds like it'd tie in to some higher goal with dimensions and termites and everything.

There's still tension if you're not following a guide, it's to recreate the feeling that things are unpredictable and can go wrong the first time you're at these decisions. There's a bunch of ways to implement this badly, but being able to skip directly to the decision points helps, especially if the odds are usually just 50/50

Finished vlr today, great game.I figured who sigma was when dio was trying to get out, and sigma was trying to get his arms crushed so that he wouldn't die. Dio said old geezer or something.
