>I don't buy games because demos aren't provided
>Use Steam refunds. No questions asked refund within 2 hours.

How do I counter this? I'm unable to because 2 hours is plenty to see whether or not a game has issues with my hardware and to see if I like it and would like to buy it (like a demo)
>>
There is no counter for it.
Just say that you know piracy is arguably unethical but choose to do it anyways.

There is no justifying it, you can just give your reason. In my case, I do it because I like trying out tons of games and loading up a list of torrents is much easier, more efficient, and faster than making 10-20 purchases which I may or may not end up refunding.
>>
>>332057173
Granted, I do usually purchase the games that I enjoy.
>>
tell them to fuck off and suck your dick
>>
2 hours is good enough to test if a game works but not enough to see if you like the game.
For example the game can be 30 hours long but the novelty effect might wear off after 3 hours and then it becomes very repetitive.
>>
>using steam
There you go.
>>
>>332057357
Yes and maybe the novelty will wear off after 30 hours, so we should basically be given the entire game for free

*eyeroll*
>>
>>332057593
Maybe it will, but if the game is sold for less than 30 bucks I wouldn't mind paying for it afterwards.
This is what I like about piracy. It gives me choice as an end-user. The problem is that not everyone is reasonable with the choices given to them.

>I wouldn't mind paying for it afterward

This is fooling nobody

What you're saying here is that you think you should be able to use products until you don't want them anymore and then determine whether or not to (not) pay. This is fantasy.
>>
>>332056793
I'd rather deal with pirates than people who treat Steam refunds like free 2-hour trials. With refunds somebody along the chain is losing money. You're actually having a bigger negative affect than the pirates.
>>
It's all ending soon anyways.

Denuvo is cranking out improved versions of their DRM faster then they can be cracked and tons of other games are funneling to server-side online only crap.

The Jews could only take so much, and now we get extra DRMs for life.

I don't think you pirated and tried out a single one of those heavily discounted games you bought

It's not a zero sum experience, Anon.

Somebody has to maintain the servers, somebody has to look at and approve your refund submission, etc.
>>

this
>>
>>332058509
Yes and people are losing money when you pirate because they have to leave their computers on for torrents to seed

Get real idiot
>>
>>332058380

You're in denial. We're still two whole versions behind... Scene is done, the chinks have called it quits and Denuvo is padding their lead at this point.

I've got a big folder full of that says otherwise, though most of it was removed since, you know, I have no use keeping pirated copies when I have a legit one.

Your hyperbole can not gloss over the fact that he is right. most games are considerable better made for the first third of playtime to sucker in more people, and because certain studies claim that many people never finish games, a design philosophy to which many publishers and subsequently developers adhere to.
>>332058154
>This is fantasy.
No, it is a working principle.
Whatever you say, people are doing it. Not all, or maybe even many, but those people are not what we are talking about.

stop trying to prove him something, he's just one of those stubborn "HURR DURR PIRATE IS BAD SENPAI" twats
>>
>>332056793
i dont buy games because why pay for something thats free and basically impossible to catch, and even if they do catch you, nothing really bad happens anyway
>>
Do you know why nobody offers demos anymore? Because games are so lackluster now that publishers rely on hype and preorders more than the games actual gameplay and fun to sell copies.
>>
>>332058912
It's all about voting with your wallet.
>>
>>332058935
if a game is good my x$ will make no difference in whether or not another game is made, specifically my x$
>>
>>332058993
That isn't true. Only games that get sequels are those that are financially succesfull in some way.
It's kind of like democracy: you can vote for (buy) something but you have to hope enough people have the same idea. I like to try, at least.
>>
I pirate. But pirates trying to prove they are good guys are complete bonkers.
Just stop caring familia. Why the fuck do you need to prove anything?
Want to take pride in pirating? Are you teenagers?
Just pirate and shut the fuck up.
>>
>>332059151
that is why i said my money specifically, how often are votes decided by one vote?

>have a friend who is very salty about me pirating games
>tell him I don't like Steam DRM and the shit they do
>he insists I'm in the wrong
>tell him why pay for a version locked to an account locked to being online when I can pirate it and have the full game even offline with no restrictions
>they get very angry and go AFK
>mfw

why people subject themselves to Steams shit when there is an option not too, it baffles me.
>>
Steam refunds only work if you buy the game through Steam.
>>
>>332059608
u can play in offline mode on steam tho

With Steam refunds, the money gets put back into your wallet, not your card.

You're converting money to gabebucks, when you could 'demo' the game using piracy much easier.
>>
>>332059608
It's the entitlement of shits like you that annoys everyone.

If you don't like how something operates, you don't get to have their product regardless of that. You might as well walk into a Barnes & Noble, grab a stack full of books, start walking to the exit, and when you get tackled just start yelling "But I don't like your CEO's stance on sales:
>>
>>332060328
>It's a "piracy is like material theft!" post

actually he DOES get to have their product minus their malware thanks to PIRACY

I pirate 3DS/Wii U games, and pretty much any game released before 2012.

I did buy shit at steam sales but I've got everything I want now.

I got a huge backlog so only new games I play are 3ds/wii u ones, I don't have a PS4 and my computer is shit for stuff after 2013.

May get a NX/PS4K next year, I should have a job by then lol
>>
desu i'm doing much sketchier shit than just pirating games

u gotta hustle man. the system is flawed. it can work 4 you.

this

Pirating is so easy middle school babies could do it. Just because most people don't get caught doesn't make it some form of legal protest of a childish medium nobody gives a shit about.

does steam refund the actual money back to you or do you just get steambucks
