2 was bad but honestly not the worst thing ever made (if you ignore 3 and 4 and just compare it to 1), it just needed a better director and smaller/more vibrant levels.
3 was great and elevated the series to a new level.
4 had great mechanics but shit level design because it was rushed.
5 has all the potential to be GOAT if Itsuno and his team work on it and Capcom leaves them the fuck alone.
