It's pretty great, some of the features of MGS3 (holdup, rail hanging, first person aim, dropping books for guards to gawk at) while keeping the indoor istrusion style of MGS1. Fun to play, story is just alright, really cutscene/codec heavy towards the end. Raiden is hit or miss, I personally liked him.It tries hard to be MGS1 for a reason.

not much. Even though the direction and the music is tugging at you emotionally the entire time, it still followed 3 godawful chapters and 2 pretty mediocre ones, and a horrible story that tied everything together by either fucking with established characters or nanomachines
But imagine if 4 had been the rushed game instead of V. Then 4 would've ended around chapter 2, while the gameplay was still decent and mgs2 hadn't been entirely fucked with, and V would've had all the chapters and content it was missing.
