Lise+Kevin+Hawkeye is the most OP team you can get.
They would be even more OP if the game wasnt bugged.
Duran instead Hawkeye works too.
Everyone is irrelevant or waifu tier.

Duran and Angela had the same boss, and were 'average mode'
Hawk/hawkeye was the ninja, and had the same boss as Lise/Riesz. They were 'hard mode.

lise and hawke are completely replaced by the black market, (or just pick dark/dark carlie) so there's no reason to use them except to see their boss
the disadvantage of the Angela is that bosses cast while you are in the menu, which means that selecting spells will end up massacreing you
that leaves duran, kevin, carlie, its the best team by a mile
dark light duran so you get the weird sabers
dark dark carlie so you get the strongest version, she's still a great healer
kevin doesn't matter, he fucks things up no matter what
Pretty much all of them in various combinations at some point, but Angela most of all. SD3 has some beautiful fucking spell animations.
never completed this and tales of phantasia, saves either got corrupted or changed computers for whatever reason

Kevin is a fucking monster, hits like a truck, high Hp and werewolf form is a destructive force of nature.
Duran has versality depending on the jobs you get. He can hit hard as Kevin or be a heal bitch who can also buff you as a paladin. I prefer duran be a Sword buffer though.
Never liked Hawk too much.
Lise as star lancer is the best character in the game IMO.
Angela and the other dwarf girl (dont remember the name, i think its Carlie or something) are useless. Angela hits hard with magic i guess, and the other dwarf makes the early game be a walk in the park.

My first run was Lise/Kevin/Angela and it was harder than I'd have liked.
After that Carlie is in just about every party I make... Lise+Hawk+Carlie best party for maximum buff control.
