Are the days of the 3D platforming genre long gone?
The genre was popular in the early 2000s era but now has since completely disappeared. Are we due to see a come back anytime soon?
It's okay, Rayman 2 will get ported to every system until the end of eternity.
We're approaching the days of PS2 being the new retro-nostalgia thing people like emulating.
Expect to see people who grew up with Rayman 2 and games like those and loved them to start making their spiritual successors.
I'd certainly enjoy an experience as comfy and adventurous as Rayman 2 again.

3D mario's still going, even if shitposters like to hate 3D World. Yooka-Laylee sounds great though worryingly little has been shown off from it. Ratchet & Clank remake also looks great if that counts.

Load times aren't too bad. The framerate is pretty fucky, though it doesn't matter too much since Rayman 2 is a very easy game.
There's also some minigames, hubs and an extra boss added. Though the hubs are kinda bland so I prefer the level select of the other versions.
You can't really go too wrong with either PC or PS2. Just avoid the PS1 version.

I don't know why it originally started, if it was only one person who did it,but I did it a few times myself and I don't know why, just continuously drawing a new pixel somewhere and saving over the old pic and uploading it over and over for a long time doing nothing else, I feel like I was a kindred spirit of whoever started it

Not exactly, they lack the time and/or money to do so. Indie devs and 2D games go hand-in-hand since it's cheaper and plausible for smaller teams (and solo devs) to attempt.

The Dreamcast version is definitive. Revolution has occassional frame dips, whereas the DC version runs at a solid 60fps.
