So guys, I used to play the shit out of these games back when they came out, I gotta say they were pretty fun and addictive.
I was surprised to see this was developed by level 5 too, what do you guys think of these series?

They have tons of replayability, pretty good content and side content, the stories are somewhat silly but fun and nicely paced (from what I remember) but what is really amazing is the gameplay aspect and the customization this games offer.
Inazuma Eleven 2 was fucking great man, but I'd say to play the first one first which is pretty good too.
There is also the 3rd game which I've yet to play because it came on the 3ds somewhat recently.

so its football but you can control every player with the touchscreen (the controls are really good) and your players have special moves and level up and have stats and you can recruit more guys a bit like pokemon and there's a stupid over-the-top story that somehow involves soccer. It's great.
I've played them all at some point, Chrono Stones is personally my favorite. Galaxy was better in several ways, but I really liked how absolutely broken some of the mechanics in CS were and how for the final bosses of story and some of the expedition route matches you actually had to make full use of those broken mechanics. Also 2 and CS feel the most like adventures during the stories with you travelling all over Japan and throughout time, which I liked.
I still need to replay 3, Go, and CS in English, but I'm too lazy to get to modding my spare 3DS to do that. And Galaxy still hasn't been localized.

I still gotta play everygame after 2, I was aware about the go series but the avatar things seemed so weird that I kind of lost the interest and at the time the games werent localized anyway.

It's more of an RTS than a sports game. DBZ tier when it comes to being over the top. Level-5, so good gameplay, lots of characters, but a simple story is to be expected.

The Ogre is objectively the best, it's the "third version" for Spark/Lightning Bolt and Bomber/Bomb Blast. There's an extra story chapter based on the IE movie and some tweaked mechanics. Between Spark and Bomber though, the differences are

Versions don't really matter other than IE3, where there's a definite version with Ogre, though there are still a few things stuck to the other versions. For the rest of the games, it's just a matter of pick whichever exclusives you like more. For IE2, the only major differences are
>Firestorm's post-game team is called Prominence and full of Fire players
>Blizzard's is called Diamond Dust and full of Wind players
>Natsumi/Nelly joins the team in post-game in Firestorm, Aki/Silvia joins in Blizzard
>Gouenji/Axel levels up faster in Firestorm, Fubuki/Shawn in Blizzard
Personally, I went with Firestorm, Spark/Lightning Bolt, Shine/Light, Raimei/Thunder Flash, and Super Nova.
