What went wrong?
A lot of things.
The incompatibility is annoying as fuck, but I have the whitelist hack.
The memory cards are still propietary Vita cards, which is a gigantic pain in the ass. I fucking hate having to manage the shit on my memory card.
It's a gigantic pain in the ass. But there are good games, so I don't regret mine.

I literally only found out about them when they announced that they were discontinuing them. Now I have a vita that I only paid 30 bucks for, persona 4, and Ys Celceta. Thats the only two games I wanted anyways and I wasnt going to spend 200+ to play them. Ez
I never even heard of the damned thing until I stumbled over a shelf full of 'em on steep discount at the department store, so I'm tempted to say "lack of marketing"

There is apparently a hack to be able to play every Vita game. Have yet to try it though since I dont need it but a lot of people say it works. You use a PS4 remote as the touchscreen.

The hack is only for 3.52 or below PSTVs.
And not ever game works. Stuff like Gravity Rush or Tearaway is impractical to play.

In the one region where it would have had a purpose (NA) it was treated like shit by Sony.
They took the Vita branding off of it, positioned it as a PS4 accessory, did zero marketing and let rumors run wild and took no control of messaging.
If you asked a random person here, if they even know what it is and does, they will think that most games aren't compatible, which isn't true at all.

They changed the name to remove Vita from it then made packaging that doesn't mention Vita at all or that it can even play games, only that it streams PS4 games to another room. On top of that it was never advertised.

I'm not disagreeing since there's a sizable amount of compatible titles, but I have around 30 Vita games and over half of them don't work on the PSTV. What really hurts it is that almost all of the exclusives aren't compatible.

It's a cheap indie game.
It's a Tempest clone, but with way more stuff.
It's pretty great, it's the kind of thing you'd pick up in a steam sale and it works well in a portable environment.

Pretty sure SSD is digital only, while SS vanilla was physical and digital.
Almost all games that actually matter work on it. It literally costs less than a fucking PS4 controller. It's pretty decent

You cannot play games that are stored on the PS3.
You can transfer games on and off a PS3 or PC though.
You can also use a PS3 to get your hands on digital games while remaining on a lower firmware for hax.

That is correct. The transfer rates are slow but if you only plan on playing 3 or 4 games at a time, it works well.

Do you have a PS4?
It plays fine on the PSTV. The game is designed to be played on Vita hardware, Japan got nothing but the Vita version. Nothing wrong with getting one for cybersluts if you can stomach still playing, say, an Xbox game on a modern TV.
