I think you mean 'open world'. There have been very, very few sandbox MMOs.
Tera - great combat, pretty decent PvE and PvP
Dungeon Fighter Online (fuck you, it is an MMO) - 10/10 combat and music plus the most well-balanced PvP you will ever find in an MMO, but its instanced and super grindy
I would have recommended Rift as well but it recently became Pay2Win
Theres also Camelot Unchained which looks amazing, but its in alpha right now
Other than WoW, Wildstar, TESO, Black Desert and GW2 not a lot.

I'm playing it and I'm having a blast with trading and fishing and leveling and horse breeding. Its the first Korean MMO I've played so the whole style is new to me. One thing that turns alot of people is that pretty much everything in the game is complicated except just grinding for levels. So people rush to get 50 and get bored quickly.

Honestly it's still WoW and WoW is in a pretty terrible state.

Things are not destructible. Though I think guild fortresses will be when it's added? Check Google on that to be sure.

The NPCs and environments and map are well done. It feels as alive as an MMO can really get, but you'll be spending most of your time solo. As far as theme park goes, any MMO that doesn't have instances doesn't feel like a theme park to me.

Customization spell system
Crafting huge important (since very very little PvE, if PvE exists it's not going to do much besides some mats or stuff)
Thing is, all this sounds great and they have a great idea for it all, but goddamn the engine is shitty.

What is RIFT? No seriously, Trion don't have giant 500-man outdoor raid-fights if your engine can't handle more than 10 people on screen.
