This. As someone who casually enjoyed comics over the last six or so years seeing the transformation was really shocking. I had a backlog of things from the early 2000s to around 2010 to check out so I got to enjoy what felt more in line with how you would expect for comics.
But then when you get to anything past that the attempts at "social critique" and the embedded political agenda is so extreme that even without looking for it it is just plain in your face. The fact that they couldn't even do the Killing Joke reference cover for Batgirl was complete bullshit.
Marvel is always worse when it comes to these things, but it is their target audience so I can't blame them. Now their comics are all about social media, meme references, etc.. it has to be as hip as possible so it latches onto whatever sparks interest in young people, which is always whatever is against the views of older people.

Rashid's only saving grace (aside from the moveset and scouter) is his English voice. His personality is shit and his Japanese voice shows you how he was intended to be. His Japanese voice is complete ass. It's like how the only reason Cody is cool is because his English voice was just so well done. You turn on his Japanese voice and you'll immediately hate both characters.
