I am having fun with it. I played it on PC when I was a kid and just enjoying it just as much. Trying to beat Maniac Mansion, glad they kept that in.
>>
>>331633892
is maniac Manson also remastered to some extent?
>>
>>331634072
Probably not since it was just an easter egg in the original.
>>
>>331634072
Nope. But hey, I am okay with that.
>>
>>331631414
im probably going to get it on sale. not worth $14 IMO.

I bought it. Never played the original so I'm gonna having fun with classic graphics.

Full Throttle Remastered when?
>>
>>331635152
>Full Throttle Remastered when?
Oh, it will pop up any day now. They're desperate for money.

That being said, the DotT remake actually seems pretty good. Better than the Grim Fandango one.

I am a little salty because they are not doing anything special with these remakes at all

not in a 'true to the material' sense, but in the 'this is a cash grab, fuck off' territory

ie: the grim fandango remake
I bought it, and fuck, they did basically nothing

yet, monkey island 2 remake is fucking amazing:
>audio commentary while playing
> you can switch between new and old mode anywhere, instantly
>true gamepad controls, as in 'character moves using the stick' not the cursor BS support
>remake graphics are as gorgeous and different as the good old pixel art, they don't try to copy it, just do it their way brilliantly

monkey island 1 remake was a little worse, as the artwork is not as cool, and the gamepad support is just cursor=stick, but even that is better than grim fandango

could anyone tell me about the DOTT remake in all these matters?

I am a true nostalgia fag, and I enjoy remakes, but if they offer something new and good, not just a dosbox repackaging on steam
>>
>>331635746
They added good old point and click control to Grim Fandango. I like that. Fuck tank control.
>>
>>331635746
There is audio commentary and can instantly switch to old mode with a single button press.

Can't imagine playing through it without using the mouse for everything. It was annoying enough to have to hold shift down to make Manny run.

Thankfully, as long as you activated tank mode in the options, you could play through the whole game with the mouse and still get the achievement.

>>331636074
fuck that sounds good

does it let you control the character (not the cursor) using a gamepad?
>>
>>331635152
>never played the original
oh how I envy you
>>
>>331631414
it's literally just the original game with the original graphics ran through a smoothing filter

you might as well just pirate the original and play it in ScummVM
>>
>>331636294
I knew it
they didn't even redid the assets
it looks like a fucking emulator filter

I will wait until it is bundled, I have already played the original too many times
>>
>>331635746
>true gamepad controls, as in 'character moves using the stick' not the cursor BS support
Playing a point and click with a controller should be illegal. Also GF did add alternative control methods, so what more do you want?
>>remake graphics are as gorgeous and different as the good old pixel art, they don't try to copy it, just do it their way brilliantly
This is where I just disagree. The new art style looks good occasionally, but it often looks uninspired and Guybrush is completely wrong.
>>
>>331636442
I have already played everything using a mouse
so I personally enjoy playing these remakes, on HD, from the sofa
the monkey 2 remake is really good in that matter

I was not talking about GF gamepad support, but many other gamepad supports that is just cursor moving, a support that takes literally 10 minutes to code

I know the old graphics are GOAT, but the new ones are good and consistent
not like this shit, which is just a filter, that fucks up the color shading, making it look like flash vector based crap
>>
Anyone looking forward to Thimbleweed Park?
>>
>>331631414
Never play any of these fucking terrible remakes.
>>
>>331637062
Why not? They don't take anything away from the experience. If anything, never PAY for terrible remakes.
>>
>>331636696
I dislike the artstyle. It feels uninspired.
>>
>>331637356
That's debatable, but definitely don't give them any money
>>
So am I the only one who actually thinks the voice acting in this game was shit? It's the one thing that merited a rework with a remaster release and it hasn't been touched.
>>
>>331637683
I got the Grim Fandango remake from a Humble bundle. So they got about $0.2, which seems fair. Buy I did buy the original way back when. Would have been more okay with paying around $5-10 had that not been the case.
>>
Meanwhile trine devs remake the first installment using the engine from trine 2

And release it as an optional update for the game, for free

Go support based devs, fuck
>>
>>331638015
But the people who actually made Grim Fandango got paid the first time. The second time that fucking rat Tim Schafer got paid. Fuck that thieving piece of shit.
>>
>>331638891
True, but there's no way to pay the original developers today. LucasArts are dead and buried. And part of me is happy just to have games live on, working well on modern systems without the need to hunt for fan made patches.
>>
>>331633470
>this much of a cheap faggot
>>
>>331639327
>Part of me is glad that someone chewed up an old game, redigested it and shit it in my mouth I love the faint traces of the original still lingering in this steaming shit that is right in my mouth
>>
>>331639529
Bait aside, you'd rather old games just stopped working on modern systems and disappear? The GF remake is the original game, in higher resolution, running on modern systems.
>>
>>331640576
>emulation doesn't exist
Fuckin' retard
>>
>>331631414
Just got done getting all the achievements.
I think it's still one of the best point and click adventure games of all time, but I'm curious what people who never played it 20 years ago would think.

>>331640846

That guy made fantastic games that defined part of my childhood. He deserves my money!

Besides, I don't think the price they're charging is over priced.
