I like eating food so I fixed World Hunger
>>

No.

this, but its not when they try like Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights, Planescape Torment, any rpg really for me does it really well

Gee wiz, what a tough choice.
>>

Obviously cancer.
>>
Mass Effect 3.

probably the easiest choice i've ever seen in a game.
>>
I don't really remember what choices I made on Infamous, but the "evil" ending is glorious.

curing cancer would cause the same thing you're saying.
>>
>>331601381
Way more people on average suffer from hunger than cancer though.
>>
>>331599385
For me it was Sam's based yoga pants ass. Unfortunately I got her killed in the last two minutes of the game.

But at least we wouldn't run out of food
>>
>>331601381

Not even close.

Cancer is objectively the right choice
>>
>>331601456
Roughly 21,000 people die a day of starvation or malnutrition. Roughly 7.6 million people die a year of cancer.

Notice anything? It's the exact fucking same, 21,000x365=7,665,000

They would both fuck the world.
>>
These are pretty common in WRPGs. They aren't always well executed though.

I nominate The Witcher 2 and Planescape: Torment.
>>
>>331599650
Cancer. Enough food for everyone if you start rationing, plus you solve overweight problems. It's a win-win.
>>
>>331602070
Incorrect, they both kill the same amount of people per year.

Not really. The birthrate is much higher in third world countries partially because infant mortality and shit is so high that people have more kids to compensate. If world hunger is ended, it will be because of economic development which means that the birthrate will drop like it has in literally every developed country. In fact developing the third world is how we prevent overpopulation...
>>
>>331599228
Virtue's last reward was pretty much the only game I played that had ultra stressful choices, that ally/betray shit was nuts
>>
>>331599650
>lots of good people dying of cancer left and right, you can get it at any time and you won't even know it's there
>some poorfag literally whos are starving
hard choice
>>
>>331602820
Until you get your first 2 or 3 game overs and load from the flow chart and realize none of it matters, especially considering sometimes the other person just picks the opposite of what you do no matter what.
>>
>>331599650
>everyone needs to eat
>not everyone has cancer
easiest choice ever
>>
>>331599650

Ending hunger is really just a logistics problem because the world already makes more than enough food to feed everybody on it, but no one actually knows how to stop cancer, so I would go with that.
>>
>>331599650
Neither, the human population is rapidly growing and more people are being born than dying.

Almost 10% of the people ever born are alive today, when you consider that human history spans thousands of years, that a fucking huge percentage. The last thing we need is for less people to be dying.
>>
>>331599650
>Need food to get rid of hunger
>Dumpsters full of overripe fruit and bread that wasn't sold, morbid obesity rampant

>Need a permanent cure for cancer
>Only treatments we've got are not guaranteed to work and have a good chance of hitting your body hard

Why is this even a question?

People have more kids when they know all of them won't survive. Even if you stopped all food aid to the third world, their populations would keep growing.
>>
>>331602263
It'd even out. Less people starving means more cancer and less cancer means more people starving.
Nature is very good at making sure things die.
>>
>>331604987
Spoilers: 90% of the "aid" sent to those countries ends up in the hands of local warlords who make things shit in the first place.
This is also completely intentional on the part of the people sending the aid.

The population can grow when life expectancy is increasing faster than the death rate. Believe it or not, the third world has seen some fantastic economic growth since the end of the cold war (not only because of that, but it's one of the biggest reasons). The birth rate IS decreasing in developing countries because they are economically and socially developing, which means they are also becoming more productive and efficient with resources. There's literally no reason to halt progress.

Alpha Protocol is, once again, the closest we get to a good thing when it comes to choice.

Because Alpha protocol is, once again, one of the best fucking games.

It wasn't good because the moral choices you made were particularly deep, but because they had such a big impact.
Choosing to abandon someone meant that person was GONE, choosing to do something had direct and indirect consequences.
>>
Witcher series has some hard choices, one way or another you might make the overall situation better by acting, yet there are negative consequences to what you do.

You can never make everyone happy or save everyone, and trying to choose the lesser evil still has you choosing evil.
>>
>>331599650

That's not a choice. Pick food. Allow humanity to naturally evolve an immunity to cancer. That's more likely to happen than people evolving to not need a fuel source (food.)
>>
Can you save the Washington sisters?
>>
>>331606564
We won't stop needing it altogether but given enough time a human body can adapt to lower food consumption, becoming more efficient and requiring less overall.

We will never evolve this trait species wide though, as fat fucks all over the world eat more in one sitting than some people eat in their entire lives.
>>
>>331598536

>making fake moral decisions
>difficult

There's no consequence. Ring me up when you face an actual moral dilemma. Oh, what's that? The only moral dilemma you ever face is the constant choice whether to do something with your life or waste it on video games, and you constantly fail at this decision? Well, I guess everyone needs to feel like they have at least some form of agency.
>>
>>331606564
>Allow humanity to naturally evolve an immunity to cancer.
We already have. There are multiple checks during cell division where our cells will kill themselves if they detect something is wrong. Cancer happens where there is a mutation in a cell that causes it to skip those checks and divide even when something is wrong with the cell. That's why there's so many types of cancer, there are so many different ways that can happen.

Is there ever a reason given for why you can't do both? It's not like one would make the other impossible.
