Is it worth playing the whole game in stealth mode for the Alternate Ending?

Well I've already completed the game twice, I'd have to play badly or something to get the 2nd ending.
Metro 2033 on the other hand... They don't explain that one very well, bad ending is the better ending anyway.

There were certain segments of 2033 that were fairly tense and fun to me. The one that comes to mind for me is a level where you're outside and there are guys in the windows of an apartment structure and you're crawling on pipes.
