Yes, as a constant menu it is helpful, BUT!! im talking about games when you need to use the bottom screen to do things, like:

A lot of early DS games did this kind of thing, which annoyed me. Thankfully, they dropped this model on the 3ds, which i think is a pretty awesome console.
