Correct. It sometimes takes them up to 5 seconds when I kill a lone tourist at night on mountain trail with a knife.

In V when pedestrians fall on the round they just randomly die. You literally can't injure peds in V, you can shoot someone in the chest with an AR and they'll get up and continue running like nothing happened but if you shoot them again they'll fall down and play that same animation where they're agonizing on the ground, fucking lazy shits couldn't even be bothered to make a few more animations for that.
Realism isn't always good, and in V's case the game is realistic where it doesn't need to be, in the case of the cops completely ruining the fun of messing around.
Pedestrians are supposed to call the cops when they witness you committing a crime but often you get the wanted level immidately, and the cops are way too quick to get to your location, even when you're in the middle of nowhere.
