Jesus Christ why is the third boss in this game so fucking ridiculous? The one in Singapore. Fucking jesus christ fuck
>>
that's what you get for playing a bad game
>>
>>331115031

It's a cool fight. Easy but cool.
>>
>>331115129
>easy
No it's fucking not.
>>
>>331115105

DXHR is one of the extremely few AAA games made after 2005 that are legitimately good.
>>
>>331115163
git gud
>>
>>331115163

It's easy. Only trick in it is the gimmick that you can't use your augs. If you could, Jaron would be a total pushover (he has only a fraction of the health the previous two bosses had).
>>
>>331115031
Do you mean the mosquito man Arab guy? I just blasted his face with explosive Magnum after I deliberately got the chip installed. Don't think I even had to reload.
>>
>>331115350
>>331115354
I fire 15 FUCKING 15 EXPLODING REVOLVER SHOTS into him and he doesn't die
>>
Just punch him when he tries to climb over walls unless the devs have fixed that already
>>
>he had the replacement chip installed
I could smell that shit coming from a mile away. Fight was piss easy, just abused his pathfinding by moving between the aisles. Cummon mane.
>>
>>331115463

That was patched out.
>>
>>331115512
I saw it coming too but I thought it would be too obvious a gimmick
>>
>>331115512
>I could smell that shit coming from a mile away.

Everybody could, it was the most obvious trap ever, but it's actually better to walk into it because the glitch effects during the boss fight if you have the chip are pretty cool, and like said, the fight is way too easy without them.
>>
>>331115031
Is it even worth doing a pacifist run your first time through?
>>
>>331115605
I can't even remember the details of the fight now, my memory is shit and I played it around 3 months ago. I know I wasn't overleveled, I think my weapons were the shotgun, the rifle with gud mods, stun gun and PEPS.
>>331115663
Oh, I guess I missed out then. I really should replay it sometime, I'm pretty sure I was on the medium difficulty since I was focused on completing the story first before a hard playthrough, but I never got around to it.
>>
>>331115902
Like I said here >>331115439
>>
>>331115439
Yeah takes about 20ish if you don't aim for his head. If you had the dlc and get the grenade launcher...just a mag because it stun locks his ass.
>>
>>331115939

Put more bullets into him. There's no trick to the fight.

If you have the director's cut version, there are side rooms where you can hide for a bit and find some extra shit, but in the end it boils down to "put bullets into him". It'll be fine, he's way less durable than Sergeant Meatfist or Tumblr the Hedgehog.

Only if you like that sort of thing. If you just want the trophy, it's way easier on new game +.
>>
OK I beat him.
Managed to get good shots with both ALL my revolver ammo and my armor piercing silenced pistol

That's the last real fight isn't it?
>>
>>331116468
Not exactly fampai
>>
>>331116468
>That's the last real fight isn't it?

There's a final boss at the end.
>>
>>331116507
>>331116532
I hear that isn't a normal boss fight though
>>
>>331115752
only if youre a try hard masochist who would rather restart a level for their perfection than to just finish it naturally
>>
>>331116572

Normal and normal. Unless you do certain gimmicks, it still involves taking a gun and shooting at things while being shot at.
>>
He's easy, five burst round shotgun blasts to the face or just a magazine of a pistol with armor piercing system while cloaked. You can bypass the EMP if you just don't get the biochip in Hong Kong 2, which you should have done anyways if you were paying attention to the story
>>
>>331115439

I usually have a complete inventory aug by this point. I think there are some heavy weapons leading up to the fight strewn about that make it much easier.

I'm stuck on the goddamn police station in my playthrough right now because I killed a few cops getting to the aug corpse and now that faggot at the front desk won't talk to me. It's rough getting to a heating duct or whatever to sneak about to finish that quest for Megan's mom before the cops ice your ass.
>>
>>331117023

Not getting the biochip is practically cheating, it removes all the challenge from the fight. The whole point of the fight is that you can't use your augmentations (including the one that heals you) and your HUD is glitching to fuck.
>>
>>331115163
>No knowing the one punch trick
>>
>>331117023
I got the bioship because I didn't want to miss out on a scene. Too bad not doing it was a better scene

Patched out in DC.
>>331117367
>going out of your way to read into the story and take your time exploring to make a challenge easier, which is basically the backbone of Deus Ex, is cheating
ebin
>>
The only reason why I didn't get the biochip was because Pritchard told me to get it

Fuck you Pritchard
>>
>>331117367

Or maybe since the boss fights are shit it's better to do what you can to make them as brief as possible.
>>
Reminds me that I really loved this game. It just started to drag on in the end, so I'm not ready for a new game yet. By the way I don't recall this boss being hard, but I forgot how it went. IIRC I had to restart the fight over and over when something I did obviously wasn't working, and eventually something obviously did work. Stun gun followed by a shot, 3 times or so, iirc.
>>
>>331115752
If you do, don't stuff a bunch of guys in an air vent. They will die.
>>
>>331120554
really? pretty sure i stuffed some dudes from the cop shop in the vents after they almost spotted me, the pacifist one popped at the end still.
>>
>>331120718
It isn't necessarily a guarantee, but I stuffed a shitload of knocked out dudes in a vent and by the time I get the last one in, all the others were dead. I suspect it was a collision issue, so many bodies in a tight space clipped into each other and did physics damage or something.
>>
Haven't played this before but I managed to snag the original DE:HR a while go.

Should I start with that or go straight for the Director's Cut version? Are the improvements worth it?
>>
>>331115195
Ehh, it's aight. It gets kind of boring and the graphics style is atrocious. Compared to the original Deus Ex, it's pretty bad.
>>
>>331117241
Have you tried entering the police station from the back? I think there's a door and/or vent to get in as well.
>>
>>331121967
Yeah, the improvements outweigh the negatives in my opinion. Original HR looks better graphically but that's about the only negative that comes to my mind.
>>
>>331122489
Not that Anon, but what isn't, really? Any AAA suggestions post-2005?
>>
>>331122665

I've tried both the sewer and roof entrances. I think I'm just going to go back to an earlier save. Sneaking around the police station is just too much of a pain in the ass.

I found it pretty fun to find my way trial and error-wise for shits and giggles, but yeah, that's a lot less tedious.

There are some technological fuckups but toning down the piss filter makes it better already. I mean, you can mod it out in the original but whatever.

Is there a "good" ending?

Only did Taggart's so far.
>>
>>331115752
Depends on what you want from the game. If you're going for a challange then sure. If you're going for immersion then there are moments in the game where it doesn't make any sense no to go lethal.
>>
>>331116507
>>331116532
Did they do anything with the ending in the director's cut?

I remember it being horribly unfinished.

Takes fucking forever, but his movement is completely predictable once you figure it out. Also, afaik you can hack a turret and take it with you into the fight, and it will fuck him up in no time.
>>
>>331115031
Just take cover and watch/predict his movements. His grenade launcher or whatever he's using will hit your cover most of the time. Meanwhile, blast his face in with a shotgun and you'll be done in no time.

Sariff. It makes the most sense going into DE1. Nanoaugs, son.
>>
Is Pat doing a good job so far?
>>
>>331127464
Not really but since it's for an LP it's fine.
>>
How did you deal with the 3rd boss if you went full non-lethal? Pre-patch I guess.

I only managed because I saved a sniper as lethal backup and hoarded grenades.
>>
>>331122854
>>331123254
Alright thanks, I'll start my first playthrough on the Director's Cut version then.
>>

>>
>>331115163
Literally the easiest boss in the game.
>>
>>331127606

There is no way to be nonlethal in boss fights.
>>
>>331127721
>get to final mission
>get LMG to hose badguys
>accidentally destroy a door
>sudden realisation that "strong" and "weak" on doors were because you could break them down

I am an retard
>>
>>331127606
I didn't update my chip and just Stun Gun + Typhoon. Even if you do stealth + nonlethal you should still get Typhoon for bosses.
>>
>>331127464
>Is Pat doing a good job so far?

He's pretty bad at the game actually, but you know, talking and playing at the same time and so on.

I'm mainly annoyed by the way he keeps making bizarre factual errors and there's no one correcting him.
>>
>I never asked for this
Why is this a meme?
Would you honestly wish to be a limbless stump rather than a badass cyborg?
>>
>>331127606
>Not putting your upgrades into magnum for bosses
>>
>>331128281

The point is that if given the choice in the first place without being injured he likely would have never taken augments. He didn't ask to get shoved through high resistance glass and have his flesh torn to shreds. Or shot in the dome with a high-power revolver for that matter.
>>
>>331123817
FUCKING FULLY AGUMENTED FRUIT FLIES
>>
just crawl in the vents bro
>>
>>331128663
He does get the option to say it's less than ideal, but he's thankful all the same.
Saying he never asked for this makes him sound whiny and ungrateful.
>>
>>331128902
Not everyone thinks the same as you and some people wouldn't want to be robocop for whatever reason.
