I don't think this is bait. I think this is genuinely some really angry 13-year-old.

Xbox cuck stay mad lmao

Vr is just a dumb idea, but Sony was the only one willing to make a model that didn't need an enormous investment. Even with the camera requirement (move is not required, try reading sometime) it comes out 300 bucks cheaper than a vive or OR. THAT is why people will buy it. VR is being so hyped as the new way to play games that lots of people are gonna fall in to the trap. Even though psvr is coming out later it still has the benefit of being cheaper and not needing a relatively high end pc, just a ps4 which is infinitely more common.

So you saw the garbage OP, clearly written by someone who is either pretending to be a retard child or is actually one, and you decided to respond with a cohesive post you put any amount of thought into.
>>
>>330970720
At least the Wii included all the gimmicks on the box, on release, with all the hype of a new system.
This thing will bomb so hard in Japan, we'll hear it all the way here.
>>
I just genuinely don't understand how it works, doesn't vr need a shitload of processing power to be even close to playable while ps4 can't even run full hd above 25 fps?
Someone explain please.
>>
PSVR has potential.
That is, potential to kill VR.
It's going to be cheap, underpowered, yet it will almost certainly be the entry level VR. The average consumer will buy it and then feel burnt because it won't be good enough, soiling VR for the general consumer market. Then again, maybe I'm forgetting the massive amount of buyer's remorse the consumer experiences.

>model that didn't need an enormous investment
It currently costs MORE than the console you stupid fuck

>implying they weren't running with pc hardware
Never happened before in presentations, no.
>>
>>330971521
Remember how no video game company ever has shown videos or playable demos of games that ended up running like shit when they actually released? Good times.

frame interpolation
it's a cheat but it should fool the eyes

this. I'm open to anything but gear vr made me wanna puke. Rift and vive were fine but made me feel sliiiiightly off. I have serious doubts a 400 dollar vr device on 400 dollar tech is going to be anything other than an overpriced ipecac. They can't even get games running at 60 fps under normal circumstances.
>>
I see PSVR as a stepping stone to VR on PC. Gear VR as a stepping stone to console VR. Most PCfags were consolefags before they took the next step. That needs to happen for VR to be successful.
>>
VR isn't necessary for Sony or the industry right now but it's something that Sony as experienced hardware engineers would feel obligated to try and meddle with because it can potentially take off and they already have R&D teams specifically dedicated to trying out new technologies in the gaming space.

For the VR industry to succeed though PSVR is more or less crucially needed to create an accessible and consumer-friendly entry point which they are executing brilliantly and that will translate and carry over to help drive consumer interest toward the entire VR market in general.

The PS4 basically provides the groundwork for the PSVR's success in many ways and has helped Sony understand the conditions a new gaming device would basically need to succeed. They know full well going all-out in terms of hardware can be counter-productive, they are more than capable of creating something along the lines of vive and if not better but they are conscious of the rate in which consumers would adopt the device and have adjusted the units hardware to accommodate a successful launch and potential pattern of adoption.

The truth is hardware enthusiasts are and always will be a vocal minority, the general consumer wants something that looks great and works well for a reasonable price, performance specifications is second in mind if not at all and PSVR basically meets all these conditions in one fell swoop, it's a recipe for success of not only the PSVR but the entire VR market despite the overabundance of VR-performance naysayers on /v/.

PlayStation Move and Camera bundles have already been announced for NA, not only is move non-required but PSVR will have a mode in which you can regularly play all of your standard console PS4 games on, incorporating the idea and functionality of the wiiU gamepad while simultaneously offering a standalone VR experience while also potentially being an outright substitute for a TV screen itself if only temporarily.

So.... this is the power... of the PS... VR...

Sony's been messing with VR for a while. They already had a consumer HMD that sold for like $1000. They're probably more familiar with than anyone else.
>>
>>330971915
The PSVR actually has a better display than both rift and vive, just not in terms of resolution.
>>
>$399 for PSVR
>$400 for a decade of PS+
>$1090 for two years of electicity bills
>$275 for 3 games
>$400 for a PS4
>$3.785.999 for a time-machine to go back 2,5years and buy the PS4 for its launch price
>$200 for a PS4 camera
>$45.000 for a car to transport the damn thing

Why does /v/ act like the Sony fanbase is the most cancerous? I mean, anyone who buys into this console war crap is obviously retarded in some way, but there seems to be a lot more shitposting against Sony than for them.
>>
>>330970720

HAHAHA Sonygger will eat up the PS move up theyr asses now

>I... Its fantastic i love ps move i swear!

lol
>>
The idea of the PSVR is interesting (Plug & play, and cheaper than the Oculus and Vive) but I really dont know if it's gonna work.
Honestly I have some doubts about the future of the VR, is there a big studio ready to make games for the OR and the Vive, aka 600-800$ stuff that only a few people possess?
>>
>>330973043
counting on people hating enough to trade it in so I can pick up a pair for $30
>>
>>330972856
It also has far less to offer than the Rift or Vive
>>
>>330972856
note that Vive doesn't come with a controller and Oculus Touch is sold separately
>>
>>330972951
It's because the majority of /v/ are PC users so naturally they need to deflect any attention drawn towards their fanbases own actions and transfer blame to Sony because Sony consoles are successful and the fanbase is actually quite small making them an easy target.

PC users have been shitting on consoles for years, in fact PCMR is literally based on console bashing so its awfully petty when they call out Sonyfans for being shitposters when simply they fight back
>>
>>330972129
hahahahahaahahahaha
hahahahahahahah

I swear to god
this is the first time that I see a psvr game
