That is the only way I would ever consider playing a fighting game. I don't like random chance playing a huge role in whether I win or lose a game. If the mechanics are complicated enough to where one can gain skill and thus raise their chances of winning by practice and study, then I think it would be worth it.

Besides from what I can tell that part of the game works quite well. The phase shift makes the game more interesting that simply locking your opponent in a combo and juggling them from zero to death.

They play a very wide variety of games and look at superficial things to point out in order to finish their reviews. They don't really have time to get into a game and fully understand its systems.
Game reviewing is super flawed, most reviewers rush through games in easy.
There's only one thing I dislike about this game. It's the textures. A lot of the pokemon still look very cartoony and have drawn on anime eyes and cartoon anatomy.
But then they have realistic, painstakingly defined fur. It's fucking jarring. It looks the worst on Lucario and Suicune I think. Pokemon without fur don't seem to look that bad.

Even if it's your job you're not going to be thrilled about every single assignment, and doing anything constantly will lead to burnout and lower-quality work. The biggest problem is that the review system is flawed, but the next biggest is obsessive fans expecting every reviewer to be as big of an expert on any single franchise/genre as they are when it's part of their job to bounce between titles constantly.
